First and foremost, HAPPY BIRTHDAY

jakejr! Now I must decide if I bring your gifts with me on Sunday or if I make you wait until the 22nd...decisions, decisions :)

After a good night's sleep I'm feeling much better today. Felt bloody awful by the time I left last night, though, and I was eating Rolaids like candy. People in the meeting kept giving me odd looks, but it was that or start heaving so...yeah. Anyway, I made it through and was even mildly productive so I felt good about that.

Woke up a bit late this morning but managed to get in nearly on time so that was good. And I got to listen to part of a new mix from the vastly talented

ravenmb on my way in, which was delightful. It's going to be one I get to savor during my 8 1/2 hour drive to Vegas in a little over a week, I expect.

I'm really looking forward to a roadtrip on my own, oddly enough. It'll give me some time to just think and be. No need to chat, I can stop whenever I feel like it, and basically just enjoy some me time. It sounds heavenly.

Oh and have I mentioned that I recently purchased a toaster? Yeah one of those extra wide ones 'cause my sisters are bagel fanatics and they just work better in those. I've been doing a lot of toasting lately (with a sick stomach there's very little that's gentler on it than a nice warm bagel) and Pye is absolutely loving it. He just sits in the kitchen inhaling all the bready fumes with this look of bliss on his face. I swear he'd rather eat a few bites of a bagel than all the soft catfood in the world.

And the Kingdom of Heaven ads have been running a lot recently, so much so that I doubt I'll be able to resist picking up a copy at Target this weekend. Mmmm, David Thewliss goodness...
