"Help! Mom! There Are Liberals Under My Bed" by Katharine DeBrecht, yes it is a children's picture book about how scary and evil liberals are. Seriously. I'm not making this shit up. Go see for yourself if you don't believe me.

I think my favorite part are the charicatures of Ted Kennedy and Hillary Clinton on the cover. Because, as we all know, small children really do fear and actively loathe both of these political figures. I suspect the next book in the series will be "John Kerry *is* the Boogey Man!"

I was made aware of the book several months ago by a republican fanatic on a list I'm on.

It was authored by a Bay Area woman and the art on the cover was done by a man in San Jose.

IMHO, it had to be written for five year olds so that the intended audience could understand it.

Hey, if it makes you feel any better, I know my heart was warmed when I saw this book at Bookshop Santa Cruz. I just wish I'd known someone to buy a copy for, they're extra on sale this weekend.

Doesn't really overpower the disgust, but it helps, at least.
