Ok so I'm not really sick, just headachey and a bit drained and this morning I looked outside to see big gray clouds and a wind kicking up and I just couldn't bring myself to go into work. I called in before the sun had even come up then crawled back into bed.

Bliss.

There truly is nothing like sleeping in on a chilly morning, just curled up under the blankets with a nice warm kitty beside you. Kage was strangely affectionate today and kept her neurosis in check. I appreciated this tremendously. Perhaps she sensed that something was amiss and wanted to help out in some way. Or maybe she was just in a cuddly mood.

At any rate, I finally crawled out of bed around 9:30 and started my "Mental Health Day" routine. This consists of general cleaning up around the house then special projects I've been putting off due to time constraints. The big ones were re-organizing my costume closet and vacuuming out the car. Then I was ever so naughty and whipped up a batch of double chocolate chunk brownies. And after working my tail off treated myself to watching "El Hazard", which the International Channel started playing, and which I noticed my lovely housemate had in her collection. That is one screwy anime series, but I like it.

Last night was grand, I whipped up a quick meal for [livejournal.com profile] mallen and myself before we headed up to the city to watch MTT conduct Mahler's 3rd. It was utterly transcendent...or would've been had the chick beside [livejournal.com profile] mallen not decided she needed to single handedly ruin the recording they were attempting to make of the performance by talking throughout. We joked afterwards that he should've bellowed, "Shut yer cakehole, woman!" It would've most certainly ruined the recording completely, but I'm betting MTT and several members of the symphony would've kept the recording around for their own personal enjoyment for years to come.

We also came up with the idea that I should write an autobiography at some point because he wants me to use the phrase "My Own Private Vietnam". Now he wants it as a title, but I feel that would be quite misleading. I have a very pleasant life, though I imagine it could be the chapter title for the events of 2001 *G* Best suggested title wins an ultra-shiney holographic star of your very own.

Now I'm going to go be slothful some more...

Felgercarb, as I recall, was a swear word they made up for Battlestar Galactica.
