Weekend: Productive, exhausting, fun at points
Sleep dep: Still in a deficit despite my best intentions
Desire to call in this morning: Strong

I do have a clean apartment, got some serious work done on several projects, finished up my passport requirements and got that stuff ready to be mailed out tomorrow, did all the shopping I'd need to for this week, and went a little nutty at Trader Joe's. They are, actually, quite a bit cheaper than Whole Foods and in some ways their selection is better. They even had Tofutti faux cream cheese in stock, yay!

Tonight is laundry and exercise as it's been much too long since I did both those things. Weight's creeping up again and that is not acceptable. :(

Mom's apparently happily set up in a hotel in London and so far enjoying her trip. :)

Oh and a slight PSA:

I actually mildly liked this week's SG-1, mostly I suspect 'cause they finally got rid of Vala, hooray! Daniel collapsing and being bedridden again at the end was also very good for me. Caught the end of Atlantis while waiting for BSG to come on and I must admit that McCay and Sheppard do appear to be married, so yeah I'm seeing the slash potential there.

Now BSG. My god the writing on this show just keeps getting better...it's so not fair. I know Ron Moore only hires the best but they could spread the talent around a little. I mean one or two of their writers going over to drag SG1 back up would be awfully nice.

All I can say is the scene between Kara and Lee in the locker room is...gah, why can't all shows handle relationships with this level of complexity? And I would damn near kill for a screencap of Kara's face when she delivers the "No take backs!" line. And the acting...I could just watch these episodes over and over again without getting bored, seeing something brand new each time. This one scene had so many layers, was so beautifully and subtly handled. *sigh*

Also everything with Adama was masterful, his quiet rage, Dee telling him off (but in a loving manner), his moment at the crossroads (where I was whispering, "Let it go, Adama, let it go"), and his final decision to do the right thing rather than allowing his emotions to rule him. Damn that's both fine storytelling and fine character development all wrapped up in a layer of smooth as silk acting. Love. This. Show.

That icon is GREAT! I loved that scene ... too bad for Lee she's got cute-resistance-guy waiting for her now, eh? Oh the Drama!

I just wish the show would quit with stupid things - like for instance Sharon coming out so soon after Starbuck. Like they wouldn't tell her "Stay in the transport until Starbuck comes to get you because that will minimize the chances of people going ballistic." Or the fact that if you're transporting a known enemy from one part of the ship to another, why are there people all over? Any normal military would have cleared the halls to move Boomer (who died) through so there wouldn't be the opportunity for her to get killed.

I realize it's because we need the drama or there's no real show ... but it still irritates the crap out of me when they do "stupid" things like that.

Cute-resistance-guy was really only a Lee stand in. I wonder if she even called him Lee while they were gettin' busy. Or perhaps the Baltar incident has helped her curb that particular behavior :)

I dunno, she did promise him she'd come back for him. I think they're gonna go rescue the rest of the humans on Cylon-Occupied Caprica so we can have a Lee vs. Resistance Guy grudge match. Fun!

Oh, and that kiss hello! Steve had to tolerate me rewinding it a couple of times to see if I could figure out who was supposed to be the one initiating. Hee!

I think we might have to make sure they always dressed in different colors so we could tell them apart, though. Kara might appreciate that too :)

The way I saw it it was all Lee with Kara's response being a startled, "Buh?"

Bite your tongue! I really liked Vala. She is one of the most inriguing characters I'd seen on TV in a while and her storyline finally sucked me in to a show that had previously never caught my attention. I will miss her.

Love that icon! But we must agree to disagree on Vala, she reminded me a bit too much of Vash from STTNG. Her only redeeming quality to me was her complete inability to get into Daniel's pants :)

Whereas I've started seeking out Daniel/Vala fics.... Yeah, a2d.

Oh! but I love YOUR icon! I was considering making that my new LJ name since Tauron scoundrel is a little played out.

Thanks, I needed that, another sister has declared undying Sirius love this weekend and I had to bury my face in my hands and groan quietly.

I feel your pain. Although at least you have family members who read HP. There's not a one in my entire clan.

Not your fault. My stupid schedule and my ill-formed timing on vacation choices.
