Sorry, I just can't seem to stop
Jul. 15th, 2005 11:16 amThe Guardian recently ran a contest to write HP in the style of a famous author and the results are pretty hilarious. Could be considered spoilery, so avoid if you're worried about it. My own favorite, of course, would have to be Conan Doyle:
It was the summer of '05, and, owing to an unfortunate turn in my domestic circumstances, I found myself again taking up with my old mentor and Potions Master. We took rooms in Diagon Alley, I finding the quiet congenial (my scar had been troubling me again), and he ideal for investigations into Muggle potions.
"Few have considered the possibilities of the leaves of Erythroxylum coca, Potter. Yet the man who is willing to acquaint himself with the Muggle underworld can truly make a killing."
[...]
Although the George Lucas entry was also a hoot:
"At last the circle is complete Albus. When last we met I was but a learner, now I am the master."
"Only a master of evil Voldemort," Dumbledore responded in his customary sure and steady tone.
