Jun. 14th, 2005 08:21 amI'll try and keep this moderately short. It turns out that 36 really isn't all that different from 35, for anyone who'll be joining me soon it's no biggie. Next I got the most gorgeous flowers and a box of really cool stuff from my family yesterday. I meant to wear my new bracelet today and walked out of the house without it this morning :( I now own a Full Metal Alchemist t-shirt, a gorgeous little blank book and more episodes of the new Dr. Who! Apparently something else is on its way as well and I'm to let everyone back home know when it arrives. My sis also managed to find me a Hobbity birthday card, I'll need to find out where she got it because I suspect I'll need more of those :)
Many thanks to
elo_sf for my morning surprise, an Amazon gift certificate. What to spend it on...hmmm...
Oh and I got a call last night while I was exercising telling me that Comcast wasn't going to send a technician out after all 'cause everything looked fine on their end. I called right back and explained the situation, the help center guy told me that if they send someone out when everything looks ok on their side that it'll cost me $50. I took several long, deep breaths and asked if I could just exchange the modem for a new one. He seemed relieved and immediately said yes. So I'm leaving work early today and I'll go get a new one and beat my connection into submission. Not exactly the most glamorous way to spend one's birthday, but if I get my internet back I'll be happy. Wish me luck.
Oops, almost forgot, Happy Birthday
chococat! :)

Date: 2005-06-14 09:10 pm (UTC)Thought of you in class this morning, when a guy asked if our teacher could elaborate on the "cross pollinization" (which he insists on saying even if he spells it "pollination") that came from the Crusades, because "I don't really know anything about the Crusades." I very nearly turned around and said, "Read a book!"
I was also very amused when we learned a whole lot about John Locke's philosophies, and (of course) went to a very geeky place.
Good luck with your net stuff tonight!
