May. 12th, 2005 08:13 amApologies to everyone who read my post yesterday on the Leviticus 18 debate, I learned an important lesson about *always* checking to be sure you've closed your links rather than just assuming you had. We all know what assuming does, now don't we?
I actually managed to get quite a bit done yesterday, for which I was proud. Did not get my ab routine in before Lost, however, but I'll make up for that tonight.
A much better episode than the two before it, surprisingly enough, especially as it was a rather obvious Kate flashback where we get to see how she killed the man she loved. So to speak. Anyway I have to admit that Kate (or "Plotty Spice" as I took to calling her last night) interests me much more when she's being a conniving bitch rather than trying to pretend she's a good girl. The scene with her dying mom was great, I loved how quickly it all went to hell, and how fast she turned from "devastated Katie" to "I will kick your ass if you get in my way Kate", she craaaa-zy!
And was I the only one who wasn't entirely sad to see Dr. Tom bite it? For two reasons in my case, one you do not stay in the car with a fugitive from justice if a cop is pointing his boomstick at you. Second, he drove a BMW, and most Beemer drivers are arrogant pricks who deserve to bleed out in their vehicles.
Next, major props to Sayid for being a voice of rationality and telling both Locke and Jack they were fucking morons for wanting to open a hatch with no handle on the outside. There are reasons people don't put handles on doors, and none of them are good. Even the psychic kid agrees, and we know he's tuned in to some bad mojo. If that kid says don't open the hatch then I really recommend you DON'T OPEN THE HATCH.
Loved the Hurley bit where he spills the beans about Fugitive Kate, Jack gives him a "I'm trying to feel morally superior about the whole secret hatch thing with Locke and you are totally undermining that!" look and Hurley quite rightly points out that he can't be expected to remember who knows what. When he threw in a reference to the polar bears I totally lost my shit. Though line of the night had to go to Charlie for track two on his upcoming album, "Monster Eats Pilot". I so need to make an icon of that.
I did like Jack and Locke subtly vying for leadership, or at least competing to see who had the most secrets. I think most of Jack's have been revealed at this point, except the whole dad's body walking around the island thing. Locke comes out slightly ahead because nobody alive knows he's actually a paraplegic when not on the island. Also Locke's total "You're not the boss of me" attitude was delighting me.
Sawyer, buddy, telling the island's inhabitants that Kate is a criminal is probably not the best way to get into her pants. Just sayin'...
Walter also now wants to get off the island badly. Doom, such doom. Also I'm assuming that the Doomrador isn't invited on the raft, bet Walter's not going to be pleased about that. Scenes for next week look intense, apparently "they" are coming and you've got 3 choices, run, hide, or die. Sweet!

So I missed why Walt suddenly decided we need to get off the island and not stay here forever and ever amen. Was it because he knows Locke is going to pop the hatch?
