In today's, "D'oh!" news, Alan Greenspan finally comes to the conclusion that our ever upward spiraling deficits might not be such a good thing for the economy. *facedesk*

Also heard on the news this morning that a young girl in Florida was apparently raped, bound, put in two plastic bags and buried alive. There's no word in our language foul enough to describe the person who did this. I only hope he's caught soon.

On a slightly brighter note I got the fitness video recordings done last night (as well as some laundry, thank the gods) so I'm not nearly as far behind as I'd feared. Also dug up the first two DS9 novels [livejournal.com profile] tersa needs to read, go me. One of the "bellydance" videos I recorded was so wretched it just has to be shared with Aelf, she will understand the true horror of it. The instructor knew 5 moves and did them over and over and over again. She didn't even know what they were called. And she did the whole thing to Latin music. I shit you not. Her shimmies were a crime against mankind and I found myself MST3King the entire thing. Oh the pain.

However, they had a combo workout with Afro/Cuban, then Urban Funk and finally bellydance that I recorded. The last was all abdominal work. Slow camels, undulations, mayas, the works. Now that was well worth recording.

And I think the Bollywood section of On Demand has the flick I've been wanting to see with this incredible dance number involving a straitjacket. If I get home from the store in time to do it tonight I'm going to grab that one. If I'm wrong about it, well I've got a Preity Zinta film to watch, and there's nothing wrong with that.

Greenspan has actually been warning about the deficit for a long time. A really long time. It's just that no one in congress or the White House actually wants to listen to him. :/

Um, but he's mostly been cheerleading all of Bush's friggin' insane tax cuts, it's only now that he's started paying lip service to the concept that "pay as you go" kinda sorta makes sense. It seems to me that he's been content to play "Goodnight, Irene" while the financial ship sinks around him and has only recently decided it might be wise to at least deploy the lifeboats.

But, on a lighter note, thank you so much for the gorgeous hair clip! It's just lovely :)
