What I need is a good defense

I have managed to catch the cold going around, though at the moment it's just making my throat feel like it's got second degree burns. I suppose donating blood then being exposed to folks with said cold all weekend was not my brightest idea, but I had such a good time this weekend I don't really mind.
First, SG1, cute concept but goddammit they killed Daniel again! Fucking hell. How many times does this make in this one season alone? I've given up even trying to count. I don't care if it was an alternate universe Daniel, just cut it the fuck out you sadistic bastards. *grr*
Second, I want to personally hug each and every person involved with Battlestar Galactica. I'll throw in foot massages for the writers and backrubs for the actors and director. Hot damn this show just doesn't let up and there are mind fucks aplenty in just the first 5 minutes of this episode. And any episode that has both Aelf and I clasping hands to our mouths, eyes round with shock and squealing like school girls before the credits even roll, you just know is going to be a good one.
I actually felt pretty bad for Baltar, but couldn't really blame him I mean who wouldn't fall for Starbuck? My question is why is Lee all up in her face about it? I mean have they already had a relationship? Is there some sort of agreement between them that they will have a relationship at some point in the future? Is he telling himself he's just getting jealous for his dead brother's sake? What's up with that? And why was she the one doing the apologizing? At any rate I felt very smug after watching this ep about including the song "Criminal" on my Starbuck mix, very smug indeed.
The Boomer subplot left my jaw hanging. The Baltar trying to carry on two simulteanous conversations with the President and Six scene was just too perfect for words. The opening sequence with Adama trying to get the message through to Lee that if he doesn't learn to take chances, loosen up his emotional control and...well, be a bit more like Kara, he's never going to take his dad's place. It's like Adama really wants to put Lee in charge someday but he knows the kid's just not the right person for the job. He keeps hoping he'll change, that he'll become the kind of officer he needs to be to take over, but...
I'm also wondering if this episode marks the end of Kara's Adama adoration, I think she'll still respect him when she gets back from Caprica, but her hero worship days are probably behind her. It's just as well, she's needed to do a bit of growing up too. Of course she's going to have to do some serious tap dancing not to get demoted after this latest stunt. Maybe the president will pull some strings for her. If not I can see Lee putting her on lavatory cleaning duty for a good long while. Of course, given that Lee seems to be committing mutiny in the next episode...
I get the feeling that this Friday I'm going to be a bit of a wreck with the second part of the season finale. At least I'll have Aelf and
ravenmb to share the experience with.
Managed to get lots done including a couple of loads of laundry and lots of tidying up. Also burned one more new mix, with which I'm ridiculously happy. And I discovered that Creation is asking for BSG music videos, and oh my god am I tempted to submit one. I'd need to get all the eps in digital format, but a Starbuck one would almost make itself. Hmmm. Also Aelf and I decided we're going to the Battlestar Galactica convention in June, there's just no way we can miss this. I was thinking of getting like a double room at the con hotel where people could hang out and crash. It'll mean getting a cheaper ticket and possibly doing without autographs, but honestly I've got so many already from a multitude of fandoms, do I really need more? I'd just as soon be there and hang out with other fans, check out the dealers' rooms and just revel in geekdom for a weekend anyway. As soon as the regular tickets go on sale I'll post about it here, chime in if you decide you need to go as well and we can meet up at the hotel :)
