And the car I want is available for $2,000 less than I was going to pay for it at the dealer I want to go to and they've got a financing deal on until the end of the month. I just set up an appointment to go fill out the paperwork tomorrow after work. He tried to push me to do it today, but I have class tonight and don't have an extra hour + to go and fill out forms, discuss options, test drive it, etc. It's even in the color I want! I feel like dancing. Now to see if the vanity plate I desire is still available...

Isn't there something at the CA DMV website where you can check availability of your desired vanity plate?

Yeah, I think the closest I can get is XBAMFX if that doesn't look too silly.

Actually, I think they can do half spaces. I've seen it on passing cars.
