Yesterday was one of those all too rare relaxing days. Not that I just sat around like a slug or anything, I actually got quite a bit accomplished, including some much needed weeding of the front lawn. After a mild plant accident at OSH I repotted my new acquisitions and straightened up the patio a bit. Kage joined me for a good portion of my work, venturing no further than the edges of the patio. She seems to like being outside only when someone is right there with her and she quickly comes back in when called, which is lovely.

Getting my hands into the soil again made me feel so...peaceful. I know some people would see the process as a chore or work, for me it's a moving meditation and a chance to reconnect with the earth and my spirituality. I think spent a little time collecting cuttings from all the scented stuff and left it out to dry today. Hopefully I'll be able to turn most of it into scented potpourri and sachets. I want to find the right balance between the rosemary and mint, it's one of my favorite scent combinations. I'm also kinda thinking of maybe trying my hand at either soap or scented candle making. Gah, when I get bit by a crafting bug I get bid *hard*.

We also got our huge coffee table delivered last night, and it's even more impressively immense than we remembered. It's so perfect for gaming it just defies description. I can't wait until we can break it in properly. And it will need to eventually be refinished, but for now it matches the hardwood floors so that'll do. Now we need a lamp and a t.v. and entertainment center and that should just about do it. I've got to admit, even with the problems we've had with the place, I'm not going to be in a huge rush to leave the house.

I burned some incense out on the patio last night, it scented the entire yard and enough blew into the back room to make it smell delightful too. And I lit a few candles and let them give the room a nice warm glow. The moon rose gorgeously over the back fence and was bright enough to light the entire backyard. It was glorious, magical, perfect, and serene. Being able to just enjoy it and relax was almost too wonderful for words.

And I think I'll stop here before I finish convincing everyone reading this that I am the most incredibly dull person on the face of the planet. }:)

Oh you do know that quote, I expect you'll figure it out or someone else will very soon. If there aren't any guesses by mid day I'll post a *really* big hint }:)

Posted seperately about the film, I'll let you know what, if any, response it gets. If nobody else is interested I'll probably want to postpone, is there another day this week that would suit you?

Bah.
There is nothing dull about that. Like Bobby McFerrin says, Simple Pleasures are the best.

The Darkshire Shrubs

Poor Darkshire, not having an ebonlock to help make it bloom. It's relying on caredhel and forkmonkey's lapses in negligence for survival. If I wasn't booked this weekend (I'm planning on doing nothing this weekend), I'd work in the garden.

If you ever should find the time to work on the garden and would like an extra set of hands to help out just say the word. It would also give me an excuse to foist some basil and rosemary off on you two *G*

And congratulations on doing nothing this weekend, I hope it works out better for you than it did for me last time }:)
