I'm utterly useless when it comes to entries this week, sorry about that. Dance class was good last night and I agreed to be one of the donation basket-bearers at the performance Friday night. We're all dancing the show to help raise funds for tsunami relief. We did some rehearsal last night and ended up running "Hinko" twice through. My arms are protesting it acutely today. That number is just the most physically challenging dancing I've ever had to do, and it's all pretty much upper body and arm work. Ow.

I have my concerns about doing this at Straw Hat, the venue holds some seriously mixed memories for me, but after the Flamenco Society fiasco I figure I can pretty much handle it. Just have to avoid getting my veils in someone's pizza.

Just to liven things up a bit, and because I liked the question I posed to [livejournal.com profile] ravenmb so much I had to share it, I'd be fascinated to see some responses to the following:

You were on that ill-fated flight from Sydney to LA and find yourself on Lost Island, do you remain on the beaches of Sayidistan, or head to Cave Town? Who do you end up befriending? What survival skills do you bring to the table? What is your deep dark flashback secret? And what item from your luggage are you the most desperate to find?

Most creative answers win!

Aelf's response as interpreted by me:

I remain on the beaches, of course! There's lots of amazing ocean, and waves, and sand, and sometimes when he thinks no one is watching Sayid goes swimming in the nude. Not that I look, of course.

I end up befriending Hurley and attempting to ingratiate myself with Dr. Jack and Kate (so she won't hurt me, she's scary). I try to talk to Charlie but end up blushing and stammering every time he walks by.

My survival skills include first aid, a keen sense of direction, and the ability to throw a spear farther than any of the boys on the island. Locke takes an immediate liking to me and though I'm a vegetarian, I'm added to the hunting party.

My flashback secret is that I'm a raving Drivshaft fan who's been stalking Charlie for the past 3 years. Somehow, despite my blue hair and obvious charms he's never even noticed me, but we're destined to be together. And see, the plane crash on the island proves it. Now he and I will finally be united!

The thing I most want back from my luggage is my suitcase full of Driftshaft memorabilia, including a notebook filled with their lyrics and covered in Charlie loves Aelf with hearts around them.

Bwahahahaha. Did she actually answer this via phone or in person at some point?

Nope, she doesn't know anything about this and undoubtedly will threaten me with physical harm when she does find out. Or she'll laugh and love it. :)

I'm willing to bet a fresh pad of archival quality art paper that it's the latter.

I believe that you are the winner in this, er, battle of wills. ^_^

The best part is how I'd seen the initial post earlier in the day but my brain is slow like treacle (noooooo sleep) and I couldn't come up with anything clever to say. Then I packed up my books and sewing and a chair and went...to the beach. And promptly called E to say I should have immediately known where I'd live, at least. She knows me well!

Then I went all Kate, standing at the surfline, sinking while I watched the waves and the surfers.

That sounds lovely. I still think I would pick the cave, because the beach isn't still within easy reach. Here's wishing you a good night's sleep... after Lost, of course.

*LAUGH* Oh my god, that's great. *laugh*

Though I would most certainly look at Sayid, and I would not either be scared of Kate; I'm just not sure if I'd think she's psycho or constantly get into pissing contests with her. o.O And survival skills--don't forget my perpetual optimism! ^_~

Thanks, man. This absolutely made my evening.

Mmmm, Chaaaaaaaarlie.
