Busy, busy, busy yesterday as I did the work of two people and still managed to get out of the office on time. Go me! Got home in time to throw some more laundry in the machine and get some serious stuff done on the computer. Even got my printer up and running, yay! Cleaned and puttered and got the two big Xmas cards I needed to send out ready to go all while watching the first hour of "Bell, Book and Candle", which I've decided is also going to be my Xmas film of choice this year.

I then switched over to see what desecration the Scifi channel had enacted upon poor Earthsea. Oh it was truly painful to watch. I felt so sorry for the author, who apparently wasn't involved in it in any way and was pretty appalled by the final product. Good for her, but still, ow. I did watch about an hour of it for the sole reason that in the first scene I tuned in for the evil king had a peg lemur. Not having read the books I have to ask, was a lemur actually featured in them? 'Cause they sure made the most of this one, generally when you saw the king you saw the lemur, he even took it into battle. I considered muting the thing and making up my own dialogue but just couldn't be bothered.

Watched two new episodes of Last Exile and I think it's going to finish up tonight. Poor Dio, that boy just isn't going to end well. I'm in the process of making up mood icons using screencaps of Dio because he is so cute. Of course I've nowhere to host them at the moment, but I got my Yahoo hosting account successfully terminated yesterday and renewed my domain so it can be hosted elsewhere. Soon I should have a new home for ebonlock.com. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

It was appalliig - thanks for posting the link to the LeGuin website. About five - ten minutes in, I realized that the miniseries wasn't going to have anything whatsoever to do with my beloved childhood books, and went into heckling mode. I particularly love how Ged uses his fog spell when the enemy is already on top of the village. (Whoops - can't see you in all this stage fog. No, really. Even though I should have bumped into you by now. Or this cliff that's in bright sunlight and doesn't have any fog around it.) Or how about the bright, perky temple with lots of cute little kids running around? Kind of different from Tombs of Atuan, ain't it?

Sigh. I admit that I had some problems with LOTR, but this is a whole new level of disrespect to the original author.

Sorry, just had to rant.
