Is it just me or during the 7 pm rerun of the Daily Show are they showing the wrong commercials for the 11 pm edition every night? Oh wait, why am I asking you guys? You all have Tivo.

Heh.

So my grand smoke detector experiment has failed yet again. It waited until 3 am to go off and scare the living shit out of me and the cats. Now I was lying asleep in bed, nothing was on but the bathroom fan, no fire, no smoke, no anything. I even unplugged my little room freshener thinking that might have something to do with it, but no. WTF is going on? I feel like I'm constantly on edge waiting for the next time the stupid things go off. If there were some rhyme or reason to it I could handle it, but this is totally random. Time to have a little chat with the landlord, who I fully expect will shrug his shoulders and tell me to leave the batteries in. Gah.

Did manage to get some more work done on my project and I'm feeling like I might, if I work consistently tonight and tomorrow, have a chance of finishing this thing over the weekend. My poor sore fingers would be very happy if I did.

Oh and I got my purple costume last night which is lovely. The choli is a little too red/purple to work with the very blueish purple in the rest of it. Fortunately I have a nice dark midnight blue one with slightly longer sleeves that I can swap it with and wear on Sunday. The vest was a tad too big as well, but I did a quickie modification to make it work and I'll do a more long term solution later. I'd much rather have to modify down than up, and if it had been too small I'm quite sure I'd have burst into tears.

Yes, I'm back to feeling fat and disgusting and thoroughly disheartened by the fact that I've been trying to watch what I eat and do better about exercise, and utterly failing. I just don't eat that much on a given day, so trying to cut things out leaves me feeling wretched. If I can finish up my last project this weekend then maybe I can start into a more serious exercise routine. I've gotta' do something.

Part of the theory behind my program has been that by doing a whole lot of exercise I can raise my metabolism back to a slightly normal level (I hadn't realized cardio helped with this too, but apparently it does; I always thought it was just strength/muscle training). I couldn't even begin to guess whether or not you might need to worry about a low metabolism but it sounds like focusing on exercising lots more might be a better idea than cutting things out of your diet. *HUG* Good luck, hon.

Thanks, luv, I'll need it. But yeah, next week I get back to exercising more and sitting around less. Must. Finish. Project of Doom...

I've found that doing a 15 minute workout is 'ok' for me. Generally, I shoot for about 30-60 minutes during the week but my Tues/Thu 30 min workout is actually two 15 minute workouts. So if I'm feeling tired or my hands hurt (blisters, owie) or I'm sore from the huge workout I did earlier or something, I will at least do 15 minutes even if I won't do 30. I don't know if something like that will work for you.

I'm vaguely thinking it might even be a way to get me to do some rowing on the weekends even if I don't actually need the meters to meet my goals.

Well, ok, I've only been doing this for two weeks now so I can't say how well it will hold up in the long run, but I'm giving it a shot. :)

Oh, and speaking of Projects Of Doom. I have gotten to the point on my dance bra where I can't go forward without help. I have to do those little darts on the cups but I'm not sure where they should go and I think there might be too much fabric to do one nice little dart. I'm not sure. I need a consultation!

I should be home all day tomorrow after about noon if you want to swing by I'd be happy to give you a hand and give you back your spare key too :)
