Can somebody explain to me how I let myself get talked into doing 5 dance numbers on Sunday? Please? Anybody? At least Shira promised I could be in the back for the second class' numbers. That is if I have the guts to get on the stage at all.

Last night was absolutely the most gruelling physical effort I've ever put out for belly dance. The room we were in was quite stuffy to begin with, and after going through the improv stuff, then doing the routine about 4 or 5 times I was already drooping. Swallowed half my bottle of water before class 2 began and we all attempted to do a little more improv to an Eartha Kitt tune. We barely made it through and Shira took pity and turned it off to let us work on the choreographies. This was when I realized we were indeed doing three more for class 2.

Dear god I'm going to be performing "Istamim Babacim" and "Tinni Minni Hanem" after all. *whimper*

We went through all the numbers then I got the bright idea to ask if we could do them in the order we would be for the recital. Shira smiled and I knew I was in trouble as she started at the very beginning with class 1's choreography. So we did all 5 numbers and all 7 of us were about ready to drop. I have sincere regard for all the folks doing not only the choreographies, but improv and solos too. Wow.

We also found out last night that if we don't have reservations for this place we will have nowhere to sit. Not to say that [livejournal.com profile] esmerel and I will have much time for sitting, but we'd like to be able to talk to everyone who does go. So has anyone actually made reservations yet? If so could you add the three of us to them? We may well be screwed otherwise.

Also is there any way to find out exactly who is going? I'm just curious.

Ok, well wish me luck on the cat today, hopefully my friend won't space again and I will have a kitty by this evening.

Crunches: Oh I don't think so.

KITTY!
Yay! Yay kitty!
And yay! Yay dancing! You will be amazingly impressive.
And dunno the quote, but it sounds like a twisted Miss Piggy bootleg quote.

The quote is from Terminator 2. It's young John Conner, talking tough to two random Tough Guys, after he realizes he has a pet Terminator, but slightly before he realizes how scary a pet Terminator really can be.

And yay dancing, I wish I was around to watch it.

Yay, Kirby gets the gold star today! And I'm sorry you have to miss the dancing, but if any photos are taken and come out I promise to share them with you!

Uhm. I haven't made reservations yet. I don't know who, if anyone, is. I will take point if I have to, but if someone else is already doing it, I will happily and cheerfully want to throw myself into the mix.

Especially since I can't recall where the recital even *is*. :}

The recital's at Shamshiri (sp?), check a few days back in my LJ (last Thursday I believe) for details. Whoever is making reservations should do so *now* as the place may have already filled up at this point.

If I'd known you were dancing, I'd have made room in my schedule somehow. Now it's basically too late for that. Darn it!

Well now hon I posted the info last week publically. I'm also not taking care of the reservations part of this, I left that up to everyone else to handle. It looks as though no one got particularly organized and arranged things.

(scrolling back) I suppose you did. It just blended in with the other performance for me at the time. You know how fried I've been. :(

Poor dear. Are you already booked on Saturday? If not I think tersa's willing to make reservations today which could include you, dear.

SO TIRED.

Ohmygod, didn't managed to go to sleep until after midnight with all the 'please keep me upright' adrenaline going.

Damnit, I know that quote, too. I can hear it in what's currently passing for my brain.

You do indeed know the quote, it's from a sci-fi classic.
And I know what you mean about last night, my muscles were twitching for hours after class. Physically exhausted but mentally wide awake. We're going to be wrecks on Sunday, you realize this, right?

Yeah, I know. I am consoling myself with the thought of 'two dances, then a break, 3 dances, and done'. 45 minutes tops, not 2.5 hours.

Yeah, but there'll be an audience, and the added stress of waiting between numbers. And knowing that the easiest one comes first, then we'll work up to the hard stuff }:)

It's a classic? Hunh.
In any case, I'm going to wait eagerly and with quivering eartips to see if any photos come out.
Have lots and lots of fun. (:

Ttried to make reservations just now, but...

...the number you gave here (http://www.livejournal.com/talkread.bml?journal=ebonlock&itemid=52367) seemed to be someone's answering machine and the number I found in the Metroactive (http://www.metroactive.com/papers/metro/05.08.97/dining-9719.html) writeup just kept ringing and ringing.

I'll try the first number again and actually leave a message this time.

G'Luck on the cat!

ooh, ooh!

Am I really first? ^_^ Terminator 2, John Connor. I had such a crush on Edward Furlong when that movie first came out, it was ridiculous.

Well you're tied with Kirby anyway (as I read this second) so you both get gold stars!
