So I've gotten to bed early and had, what for me is, a good night's sleep for the past two nights. Why, then, do I feel utterly exhausted? Why are the muscles of my neck and shoulders doing that achy, burning thing that pretty much always means, "You're sick"?

I will keep repeating, "No, I'm not." Maybe this will be effective.

Of course this is other parts of the bod chime in. Head/sinuses, dizzy, sore. Stomach, iffy. General energy level, bottoming out. WTF? I was sick in May, goddammit, I refuse to get sick again, especially this close to a major performance.

This, then leads to the "Ok, maybe it's all in your head, you know, stress related. Maybe you're just doing this to get out of DDF because you can't handle the pressure." Yeah, maybe, though I'm not sure if that's good news or bad.

Fuck, fuck, FUCK! Remember for a while there when I actually got along with my body and it generally behaved itself and it was my bestest pal? Well we're back to being truly spiteful enemies. Which makes it that much easier to beat it like a rented mule until it does precisely what I want it to, or collapses completely, whichever comes first.

Right, ok, enough whining, y'all have better things to do than read this crap (that's assuming anyone does read it, I suspect most mutter, "She's just bitching again, I'll scroll on down", and I don't blame you in the slightest). *sigh*

I read it. :) I also read it as your body's way of trying to tell you that yes, you're pushing too hard/stressing yourself out to much, your immune system was surpressed, and 'surprise!' sick. :}

However, other than sympathy, I'm not sure what else to do except to remind you that part of getting along with your bod is to listen to it. :) And I hope you feel better soon, get as much rest as you can!

On a theoretical level this is a great plan, and I like it, I really do, but realistically it's just not going to happen. I'll keep taking Vitamin C, drinking lots of water, and hoping I don't completely collapse until after DDF.

It would certainly explain a lot, wouldn't it? And I like that answer better than a virus :)

I read it! We all have times we just need to bitch/vent on LJ. *hug*

I think [livejournal.com profile] tersa's input says what I would. When I get sick it usually means I've been pushing myself too hard, not getting enough sleep, and/or not eating right. Do you take a multi-vitamin? Might be a good idea if you don't - at least 'til you're back on an even keel.

Yup, multi's plus extra C and Calcium, get lots of protein, drink plenty of water, etc., etc. I've been doing better on the sleep aspect recently and hoping that would help. Talking to the rest of the troupe Sunday it sounds like everybody is drooping these days, so at least it's not just me.

If I were not also feeling sick, I would offer to rub your shoulders. (If we're both feeling icky, we may can gaming on Friday.)

I just hope that I didn't give it to you, hon, I would feel rotten if I did. :(

If it would make you feel better I'd let you come over and pamper me and make soup for me.
