First and foremost allow me to credit my new icon to [livejournal.com profile] yahtzee63, who made up a bunch of delicious pulp fiction icons. [livejournal.com profile] jakejr said I needed this one and she was, in fact, correct. Many thanks for the head's up darling!

Yesterday was a balance of good news/bad news. Fortunately Goodwill took nearly everything, the nearly being the dining room table. On the plus side it sounds like the Salvation Army will take it and we could just leave it outside for them, so done and done. Unfortunately, the idiot realtors sent workmen over to completely refinish the front room floors meaning all the work I did on them Sunday was a colossal waste of my time. They also spread sawdust everywhere, so most of the other cleaning we did was also a waste of time. Oh and all those marks we got off the walls? Well they had them repainted anyway, so again, a complete waste of time.

And who footed the electrical bill for this work while not getting any of the benefits? Yeah, that's right, Aelf and I. Sadly for the realtors the power goes off today so I hope they got all their work done yesterday. >:}

We were both just so exhausted and ready to be done that we got sick of waiting for B- to show up so we could do the walk through and just left the keys for him. It's not like they're going to be able to tell how much work we did anyway so what does it matter? If I get most of my security deposit back at this point I'll be happy.

Zoomed home and while waiting for Comcast noted a strange man standing in front of my living room window. When he didn't go away I walked over and asked what he wanted. He said he lived in one of the other apartments and was wondering if I had a business card. I asked, "For the managers?" and he said yes. I dug mine out and showed it to him then asked for it back as it's my only one. He looked puzzled, but jotted down the info and went away as I ushered in the Comcast tech. It didn't occur to me until later that he might have thought my apartment is the building's office (it is right next to it), but then if he lived in one of the other apartments wouldn't he know that?

Anyway the tech was there for about an hour and of course at first thought it was my faulty installation 'cause...well, with most of his customers it probably is. In this case, no, something was screwed up out in the box and it took a while to figure out just what. He kept asking me if I wanted him to set different things up on the computer and I kept saying "No, I'll take care of that." Uh, dude, I do know how to set up a home page on my browser, really, it's cool. Interestingly enough my IE browser responded with an incredibly low loading time, but as soon as I installed Firefox everything zoomed right along. Also downloaded a nice freeware firewall, though I may invest is something a bit more sturdy in the future.

Now I have home high speed internet, woot! Of course what should I do with said connection but start catching up on my fanfic reading. Got sucked into a magnificiently tragic Harry/Draco story thanks to a certain somebody (you know who you are). By the end I was sobbing my eyes out for the remainder of the evening. And I don't even like Draco, dammit. If I get home reasonably early tonight I'm going to check out the Phantom trailer just because I now can :)

Oh, and if I haven't mentioned it before, Golden Sun is the video game equivalent of crack.

Welcome to the world of high speed, finally. ~hugs~

Glad you are safely moved, etc.

Golden Sun is NOT as much like crack as Disgaea is to final fantasy tactics, I mean you can go into a 10 level dungeon in EVERY item in Disgaea, even like potions. Tactical RPG combat. Droool...

You have your crack, I have mine. Though it is interesting to be playing the first game after playing the second. I keep saying, "Oh so that's where ____ is from, ah, got it." I also briefly visited one of the lighthouses, remembered the hell it was to get through it, and decided to run in the opposite direction. Need more djiinni, though!

I'm not dissing your crack, though yours is more portable, no?

And in GS:# you always need more Dijinni, always, always, always. Unless you have all N of them in which case you WANT more but can't have them. :)

Ah, but the beauty part is that I could now re-play GS2 and literally have ALL THE DJINNI POSSIBLE! That would rock my world :)

I knew that 2nd part about playing GS2 again was coming, :)

~hugs~

I TOTALLY understand and RESPECT you for it, in fact I would respect you less if you didn't replay GS2 with the save game data. :)

Evil, EVIL temptress! It was worth it though, so worth it, the story was absolutely gorgeous.

It really is. I was never much of a H/D fan before then--in fact, I tended to scratch my head and say, "Harry and Draco? WTF is this shite!" Then I read "Beautiful World" and "Underwater Light" and was converted to the cause.

Not that I think there's a shred of evidence for this pairing in canon, mind. But in fanon, yeah. They can, and do, work.

Hm. Methinks I need a Draco icon.

An animated one of him fainting in PoA with the caption "I've gone over!" :)

You rule. Just remember there's no rush; I'll be hitting the road (hopefully) on Monday the 2nd.
