Blood in the water

windrose and aelfsciene that I'd find a picture of the look Smith gave Barnaby at the end of their spectacular fight in the third period. He reached over and shoved Barnaby's head and his expression so clearly said, "Bitch, please." that I have to make an icon of it. First person who finds me said picture also gets a spiffy icon and a heartfelt thank you.
Although quote of the night goes tocyranocyrano as one of the t.v. announcers (can't remember if it was Drew or Randy) commented "Boy the Aves really need to convert on this power play if they want to win this game." To which C- replied, "I think they may also need an evil wizard at this point." Too true.
Once Patty (or "Hatty" as Aelf dubbed him) nailed those three goals I had complete faith we had this game well in hand. Just wish that both Randy, and surprisingly Drew, had showed a little of the same faith. And oh my gods they must've needed drool buckets for all the salivating they did over the Aves. I expect that kind of nonsense on an ESPN feed. Though I felt rather bad for Evil Genius (tm) Rob Blake who is no longer belle of the ball in their eyes. Nope, this season it's all about Forsberg. It's like he's been sent down by the hockey gods themselves in a shower of gold, the best player to ever put blade to ice. Yeah, whatever. He's a great player, no doubt about it, but if I had to hear that he was the "greatest" just one more time I was going to track Drew down and personally kick his ass.
And oh gods I'd so love to put the Aves away just to shut up all those naysayers out there happily repeating the same "Aves will take this series" talking points. Maybe they will, but it's sure as shit not a done deal quite yet so let's concede that maybe, just maybe our boys have a chance, huh?

Date: 2004-04-23 09:21 am (UTC)And, Fucking Foppa really *is* that good. I'm going to try to tolerate it from Drew because if he's gushing about it, there's probably a good reason, and the fact that he *will* gush about other team's player is part of why I love him so much. He's not a total homer.
Just wish that both Randy, and surprisingly Drew, had showed a little of the same faith.
Those of us at the game were equally nervous. With the Avs, a four-goal lead is *not* safe. And I was having flashbacks to just last weekend and Game 6 of the Canucks/Flames series when the Canucks went up 4-0 in the first 30 minutes, and the Flames came back in the last 30 to tie it up. And the Flames are *not* the Avs. :}
Tomorrow's game is going to be interesting, in the Chinese sense of the word. :}
