Oct. 9th, 2011 06:19 pmAnother long time no post but I have several good excuses this time, first our big performance is next Saturday and we've been practicing a lot, and had our dress rehearsal on Saturday. It went pretty well with only a couple of costume tweaks required. The dancing itself had a couple of hiccups, but more along the usual line of brain farts than any real trouble. So we've got a couple of practices left then two shows on Saturday. For the locals who are interested in attending there will also be a flea market which should be pretty awesome, and our performances are at 2 and 4 (I recommend the earlier performance as we'll be fresher):

Second I'd started noticing a weird/bad smell in my master bathroom but it was intermittent and I was cleaning every aspect of it trying to get rid of it. Sadly it only got worse and last week I couldn't take it any more so I got in touch with my handyman who will be stopping by to take a look. It could be as simple as a dead critter under the floor (my neighbor's been killing rats so it's possible one crawled under there to die) or as dire as some major plumbing problem. So until we can get to the bottom of it my bathroom is closed off and I'm using the guest bath. On the down side it has shown me just how high maintenance I've become when it comes to bath stuff. On the plus side my shower head in the bathroom is fantastic and I'm thinking I might change my master bath one once everything gets straightened out.
Third I'm a horrible fish mom who let her aquarium get way too dirty and my poor little Betta paid the price for it. He was very ill all of a sudden, laying at the bottom of the tank and indifferent to food then his right eye swelled up and I freaked out a little. After dance practice last week I took the aquarium apart and scoured the whole thing and everything in it then didn't feed him for a day and monitored everything. The first day he just kind of laid there. The second day I coaxed him up for a little food. Third day he came up for food on his own. Fourth day he was actively swimming around and when I saw him start threatening the snail again I knew he was going to be all right. This morning he came up and begged for food not once but twice. His eye is still swollen but he's clearly feeling better, and I got some medication to help out. I just have to watch that the meds don't end up harming the snail in the process.
