Jun. 8th, 2010 06:05 pmI have achieved DSL and just as I suspected the problem was with the wiring not my modem or set-up. The guy calls me at 3:30 to come over, a half an hour before the actual appointment and I freak out 'cause I'm still at work. He promised to wait for me and I made it home in record time only to find he'd already fixed the problem. Sure enough my modem was full of happy little green lights again, hallelujah!
You really don't realize how much you depend on the internet until it's gone, you know? As I commented to Aelf last night I was watching some wretched "horror" flick on Chiller and thought, "Geez that looks like Tom Wopat...I wonder, I could look that u-...No, no I can't, dammit." Mind you, I remain profoundly disturbed that the name "Tom Wopat" actually has any meaning for me and came bubbling up quite so easily.
