May. 31st, 2010 07:07 pmLong weekends are lovely things, even when I convince myself I can accomplish about twice as much as is actually humanly possible. Still, managed to get down to Lush to pick up a few things and got a free sample of the Cynthia Stout shampoo. Normally I wouldn't go near the stuff because I hate the smell but free is free so I tried it. My hair has never felt so good or looked so shiny. Despite the smell (which is truly nasty unless one likes the idea of one's hair smelling like the floor of a bar) I may just have to pick up some more.
Cleaned the house from top to bottom, repainted the dreadful accent wall so that finally I can't see the hideous turquoise bleeding through any more (yay!), and finished the guest room. Did not get the shed repainted or the blinds taken down in the living room, but, again, I'm focusing on what I did manage to accomplish.
Had a slight accident at Common Ground, the local organic garden store, but how does one pass up Lavender Bee Balm, Fo Ti (a Chinese medicinal plant) and Alpine Strawberries? One doesn't. And apparently they carry an amazing fertilizer made by a local teenager. I had to buy a bottle to try it out. Not that the garden really needs it at the moment. Pretty soon I'm going to have to start taking a machete to the mints. And the Foxgloves are almost as tall as I am...it's only a matter of time before they develop sentience and rise up against me.
And guess who got an adoption form for Lola? Sharon, bless her heart, met a great gal at the last adoption fair and recommended Lola as the perfect cat for her so she filled out the form and should be coming over to meet her this week. Everyone keep your fingers crossed that soon Lola will be with a loving new owner and be queen of her own domain just like she's always wanted.
