Dec. 20th, 2009 03:35 pmJust wanted to thank everyone who attended this year's holiday party. Aelf was wonderful, showing up early to loan me an extra table and assist with the set up.
tersa and
cyranocyrano also arrived with furniture so we got everything ready and started putting out all the food...and there was a lot. I'm my mother's daughter, I can't really help going overboard on food for get togethers. It's like genetic or something.
Anyway the remaining guests began to arrive and I was bustling around finishing up the cooking. By the time I'd finished and set out everything everyone else had brought we'd' filled a regular table, one card table and a coffee table as well with food. Mind you I still had most of the desserts in the fridge. Speaking of which my friend J- is doing some baking on the side until she opens her own shop so I ordered a chocolate tart from her and it was so gorgeous we all decided it had to be photo documented before it was cut:

And yes it was every bit as tasty as it looked. After food and gifts we played Beatles Rock Band for hours. I think the highlights for me were the rendition of "Dear, Prudence" one of my all-time faves, and getting to sing "Dig a Pony". But we've got to lay our hands on another microphone at some point because nailing three part harmonies on some of the tunes would be *way* too much fun.
