Sadly, No! is taking questions to pass along to the wingnut blogger who's apparently getting to ask Darth Cheney whatever he wants, and they've got some deusies over there already. I'm sharing a few of my favorites, but would be delighted to hear your suggestions as well ;)

How did you survive your fall down the shaft and escape the station before Wedge and Lando commenced their attack on the Death Star’s main reactor?

Is it true that if sunlight touches your kind, you instantly burn to ash?

Mr. Vice-President, does it hurt to have your soul surgically removed?

What’s your beef with Harry Potter?

Which of your deaths was most interesting

BTW, feeling much better today, thanks for all the well wishes!

So I finished season one of True Blood this afternoon and all I can say is...

I loved it.

Seriously, nobody could be more stunned by this than I am. I'm not even into vampires as a general rule and I quite literally laughed my way through the Anne Rice books (until they got so silly that they stopped even being funny). And I'm not sure I'd like the TB books, but the series kicked ass. If there's a season two I'm totally there.

To be honest Sookie and Bill do nothing for me, I think Eric is goofy (as is his entourage), and the vampire community (the old school one) is absurd. When we saw the Court/Thunderdome I just groaned aloud and did some fast forwarding. If anyone can explain to me why all vampires seem to be forever stuck in high school I'd love to hear it. I had the intense desire to smack each and every one of them and tell them to grow the hell up.

Now the humans and...other creatures...on the show are way more interesting. I'm madly in love with Sam Merlotte (though I'd figured out his big secret by ep 2 - check out the painting in his office for a dead giveaway), adore Tara and want to hang out with LaFayette. Even Jason, raging moron that he is, was highly entertaining and weirdly likable. Terry makes me want to hug him, and when I don't want to smack Arlene I quite like her too.

The overall style of the show is well done, the soundtrack is first rate and the cliffhanger ending has me absolutely dying to see what happens in season two. Was that LaFayette in Andy's car? What's up between Sam and Mary Anne, and with all that cash in the office? What's in store for Tara and her mom? And has Jason just started bumbling his way down yet another disastrous path?

Good lord I may just have to get the books out of the library to tide me over until the next season. Do they explain much more about the universe in the books? I have some serious questions I need answered.

Also if anyone knows of any good Sam-centric fic, please point me at it!
