Apr. 17th, 2008 12:30 pmDespite the fact that my ears are so plugged up today I can barely hear, it's a good day. Met with my pal E- last night, which got me out of the house and I treated myself to a peach Italian soda (yum!). He told me horror stories of his own six month bout of unemployment and gave me some good advice and kept my spirits up. Then I heard from my pal D- who's going to Shore Leave and asked if I wanted any autographs...this is the con both David and Kate Hewlett are appearing at, hell yes I'd like autographs! He's the wonderful guy who scored me a signed copy of Stephen Colbert's "I am America: And so Can You!". Hee.
Today I found a couple of apartments in the area that are right in my price range and in neighborhoods I quite like so I'm thinking of taking a look at one or two this weekend. Couldn't hurt, right?
Then a few minutes ago I heard back from the gaming/anime site I just applied to a few days ago...they want a phone interview! I did a quick happy dance on the couch, then went back and re-read the position listing, oh yes I'm a damn good fit for this job. It's a start up and in San Mateo but that works for me and I can so do this job. Keep your fingers crossed for me!
And I just heard my former minion finally got the job at EA she's been interviewing for since February! I'm going to see her on Saturday for lunch with a bunch of our former co-workers so I'll get all the details then and congratulate her in person. I'll be fascinated to her what the culture over there is like. She's going to do great, I've no doubt about that.
Now if Yahoo Mail will stop acting quite so retarded today will be all but perfect.
