Feb. 6th, 2008 09:52 amHey I got sleep last night! I feel almost normal today, and about 110% better than yesterday. I'm almost actually awake, and that is a beautiful thing.
J- and I went out and grabbed a pizza (for him) and some cheesy breadsticks (for me), then ambled around the shopping plaza while we waited. I found a sushi place I didn't even know existed by my favorite grocery store. And they have a good selection of veggie options! Even wakame rolls! *bliss* I know what I'm getting for tomorrow night :)
Then we just hung around and talked for hours. It's a beautiful thing to be able to spend an entire hour growling about just how dumb it is that the Atlantis team all use P90's when there are far more effective weapons out there. I mean sure it was fine for first season, they weren't expecting to be trapped in the middle of a war after all and were cut off from supplies, but there's just no excuse for it now. Oh yes we got our geek on majorly last night and enjoyed every minute of it.
Tonight I expect much of the same, though I'm going to twist his arm about watching the two new Avatar eps because he really needs to see them. Tomorrow we'll watch one of his HK films or anime that he's brought along with Aelf and
cyranocyrano, Friday there will be "A Dog's Breakfast" and SGA (with even more geeking!), also we're going to run over to Best Buy because he works in one back home and he's drawn to them like a moth to a flame. Then Saturday we're going to check out a local martial arts store with Aelf, where I may need to pick up something for my niece who called to tell me yesterday that she'd managed a 91.5 GPA on her report card. That definitely deserves a little something in the way of acknowledgement from her favorite aunt. And since she's a karate enthusiast...
It also gives me a chance to buy J- something for his birthday that he'll actually want and enjoy. And then I'm actually done with birthday shopping until April, and I can breathe a nice deep sigh of relief.
And my former troupemate bought my pearl costume (said it fit her perfectly) so I've got a lovely little check to deposit at the bank. I'm considering splurging on a pair of silk veils a) because I've always wanted some and b) I'm actually dancing with veils again so I can kind of justify it. Kind of. If I can find a pair I like at a reasonable price we'll see.
