And if you can tell me what film that's a quote from I shall be mighty impressed.
So in keeping with my "Philosophical Friday" theme, some thoughts to share have I. I'm not sure how many of you out there are familiar with the Tarot, but there are certain cards that have a special meaning for me in the deck and I often find those universal meanings applicable to events in my life, or things I'm going through. Right now I seem to be in a bit of a cycle with a lot of the same cards coming up over and over again. "Justice" has been in every reading I've done for weeks so obviously it's trying to tell me something.
But the one card I haven't seen much of lately is "The Fool". I have a sort of love/hate relationship with the card, I often see it as an integral part of my psychological makeup. Kind of easygoing about a lot of stuff, merrily walking off cliffs without bothering to look below, naively trusting in the ultimate goodness of the world and those around me, etc. I like that part of its meaning, and the reflection of it I see in myself.
There's another side to it, though, that's a bit less pleasant. It's the side where I trust without consideration, act and speak without thought, and take risks that are unwise. I freely admit that this is just as much a part of me as the other, better aspects. I tend to react to things instinctually, without giving them the thought they're due, and in so doing inadvertantly hurt others or myself. I need to stop doing this.
So why does "Justice" keep coming up? I'm thinking it's a message from my subconscious or higher powers that balance is necessary in all things and that perhaps I've been letting the foolish side of me run a bit too rampant. Maybe it's time to slow down a little and start watching where I'm putting my feet rather than gazing up at the stars all the time. And it's definitely time to start treating those around me with more consideration and care.
Bad impulsive side, no biscuit.
In other news the latest issue of Animation Magazine had this to share:
6/20/02 Wallace & Gromit Movie!
There has been some Internet buzz lately about an Aardman/DreamWorks Wallace & Gromit movie in the works. We contacted a representative at DreamWorks who confirmed that there is indeed a feature film in pre-prodution, but could not give any details other than the assurance that it will be directed by Nick Park.
Park helmed Aardman’s popular Wallace & Gromit series of stop motion shorts including the Academy Award-winning The Wrong Trousers (1993) and A Close Shave (1995). He also directed the Oscar-winning short Creature Comforts (1990) and Chicken Run (200), Aardman and DreamWorks’ last co-production.
The Wallace & Gromit movie is slated for a Thanksgiving 2004 release. In addition, Aardman is reportedly planning to post on the Internet 12 all-new one-minute shorts featuring everybody’s favorite plasticine neurotic Englishman and his precocious, newspaper-reading dog. Keep logging onto Animation Magazine Online for further news as we get it.
Just thought all you cheese-loving claymation types would be delighted to hear it.
Crunches: 0, I passed out around ten with a splitting headache, my bad.
