First a big thank you to [livejournal.com profile] tersa for linking to [livejournal.com profile] paidmember, which posted about a great deal if you switch to automatic payments. Three months free, woo! Did that this morning and got my user pic upgrade because I need all those icons...really, I do...

Ahem, anyway, I got fuck all done last night except kickass Dr. Who updates to my Barnes and Nobel and Amazon UK wish lists. All the books, dvds, etc. I need are now in two handy locations. And ok I did break down and buy one book, "The Gallifrey Chronicles" with the eighth Doctor which supposedly explains his role in ending the Time Wars with the Daleks, which I'm dying to find out about. Found a used copy and the seller's already popped it in the mail for me, yay! I nearly broke down and bought "Empire of Death" as well, which is the Peter Davidson Doctor but supposedly involves Adric's ghost, and how can I possibly resist even a spiritual appearance by my best beloved companion? Maybe I'll treat myself to a copy after DDF as a gift for making it through.

Apparently both Seasons 2 and 3 of Blake's 7 are now out on dvd. The temptation was nearly overwhelming, let me tell you. Hmm, maybe I'll take up a collection for Xmas this year, the "Buy Ellie more B7" fund in lieu of gifts. Yeah, I could go for that. When I was discussing the series with [livejournal.com profile] tamago Saturday night it hit me that my growing adoration for Severus Snape has some precedence in my worship of Kerr Avon from the series. Think about it, the two could've been seperated at birth, two bitchy, snarky, brainy, dangerous men with unfortunate hair and a wardrobe filled with black outfits. Heh.

Which reminds me, I will not be going to Hungary right after the show, thank the gods. However, I'm renewing my passport (just need the photos at this point) to have on hand so that I can go after that if need be. And it's a good excuse to renew the damn thing anyway, never know when I might need it.

Thanks to Jesse over at Pandagon:

I wish I could say something novel or new about Bush's complete lack of savvy when it comes to good ideas, his steadfast opposition to anything that might actually work or help people, but I instead prefer to think of it as a one long, gloriously bad blind date. His lack of vetos akin to a wandering eye during dinner, his position on Social Security akin to an unshakable faith that there will be sex at the end of this date, whether you know it or not, he bravely suffers through the formal niceties of civilized societies until he can take his Axe-drenched body and drape it over yours creepily, whispering things in your ear that would be considered sweet nothings only in torture chambers and Young Republican mixers.

I've gotta remember to thank the people that set us up together...
