I feel a bit like Frodo in the aftermath of the Ring's destruction this morning. I set a goal for myself to finish my latest Snupin fic by the end of the long weekend and with [livejournal.com profile] ravenmb's help it's done and posted. Glory hallelujah!

It started out easily enough, flowing right along and practically writing itself. But those last few bits were rather like pulling teeth. It just took forever, and when it comes to writing I'm very much a sprinter. I haven't the patience or endurance to manage a writing marathon.

At any rate, the weekend was fairly productive otherwise. I got a start on the next dance bra idea for the troupe costume, and I like it so far. Ran lots of errands, finally cleaned out my car, and did some much needed housework. Went to the library and checked out a bunch of books only to remember my HP novels had shipped and would arrive shortly and I'd undoubtedly want to re-read them. D'oh.

Saw Aelf briefly before and after Fanime, dragged [livejournal.com profile] cyranocyrano to see "Kingdom of Heaven" (with the worst audience ever), experienced Benihana's for the first time while wishing [livejournal.com profile] silkblade a very happy birthday, and got to spend pretty much all day with [livejournal.com profile] elo_sf on Monday watching "Wire in the Blood" episodes. Mmm, Robson...

Ate out far too much this weekend, so no dinners out for me this week. I'm feeling a bit poor right now so that should be easy enough to stick to. Not having to pay for class will help. And I'm in the final week of my cat sitting duties, hooray! Next week I go back to just caring for two cats, and I'm way too excited about that prospect.

Hee, check out some of the Daily Show's greatest hits here:

* Stephen Colbert: After all, it was Thomas Jefferson who said "Everyone imposes his own system as far as his army can reach."
Jon Stewart: No, that was Stalin. Thomas Jefferson said that he'd "Rather have free press and no government, than a government and no free press".
Stephen Colbert: Well, what else would you expect from a slave-banging, Hitler loving queer?

* Jon Stewart: Kerry could pose a serious threat.
Stephen Colbert: [Talking like a biblical prophet] Threat Jon? Threat? Tread carefully, newsman, lest your impudence embroil you in the coming battle tide. For the day is nigh when the armies of Rove shall come alive to claim their due. For lo! it has been foretold that the son of the forty-first king shall himself twice be crowned! The treasuries will be emptied! The ads unleashed! And the blue states will run red with the hundred million dollars of hellfire and retribution!

I don't usually do the meme thingies, but this one amused me. Gakked from [livejournal.com profile] eska_rina:
The Dessert Meme:

Pick your dessert.

No cheating. Pick your dessert from the list below, then look to see what psychiatrists think about you! After taking this dessert personality test, tag 5 people on your flist who have to take this test as well and post it in their own LJ for others to see. Also, be sure to put your choice of dessert in the "subject" line of your LJ post.

ALSO, LEAVE A COMMENT FOR THE PERSON WHO TAGGED YOU SO THAT THEY KNOW WHAT DESSERT YOU GOT!

If all of the desserts listed below were sitting in front of you, which would you choose? (Sorry, you can pick only one!)

1) Angel Food
2) Brownies
3) Lemon Meringue
4) Vanilla Cake/Chocolate Icing
5) Strawberry Short Cake
6) Chocolate Cake/Chocolate Icing
7) Ice Cream
8) Carrot Cake

NO, you can't change your mind once you've chosen your dessert. So think
carefully as to what your choice will be!

What does your choice say about you? See here. )
