If it's Thursday I must be in Palo Alto
Aug. 12th, 2004 08:25 amFirst, I couldn't resist:
It's almost scary how accurate it was!
Long work day yesterday, part of which was spent in a meeting. I hate meetings. Generally they accomplish nothing except giving one the excuse to get away from one's cube for a while. And the chairs are a bit more comfy. That's about it as far as I can tell.
Got to have dinner with
elo_sf (mmm, Aloo Gopi!) and we decided the next time we hit Sue's to order just one main dinner and then an appetizer and extra naan, 'cause we both like it too much. Walked and chatted for a bit. I swear, no matter how wretched my mood, E- always knows how to make me laugh and I hope vice-versa. Our silliness ratings always peak when around one another, which I find to be a very good thing indeed.
Went home and got the million and one things done that I needed to, including washing the accumulating dishes, paying all the bills that had come in thus far in the week, and spending a little time with the kitties. I am becoming increasingly certain that Pye's behavior recently is tied directly to being cooped up in that tiny apartment all day every day. He was bored back at the house most of the time, he's miserable in the new place. He's also putting on weight and meowing a lot more often than usual. Am pondering the leash concept again and wondering why I was ever foolish enough to think I could handle a special needs cat.
Anyway, played a little Golden Sun and read some Japanese folk tales before calling it a night. Got a reasonable amount of sleep as Pye was kind enough to wait until 4 a.m. to wake me this morning. I just got up and fed him and he seemed ok with that, so I went back to bed and passed out for a couple more hours. Today I am somewhat bleary-eyed, but mostly awake, now to make it through class tonight.
