Let me begin this post by saying that for some films, particularly fantasy ones, IMAX is a costume slut's best friend. The clarity of detail possible in one of those theaters is enough to make one weep. I am now completely and utterly in love with the new Albus' purple robes. I just kept gaping the entire time he was on screen. And the sound...dear gods the sound. I caught every line I'd missed in the regular theatrical release as well as stuff in the soundtrack that hadn't really hit me. Also finally saw which of Peter's fingers was missing. Just wow. If they ever run LOTR in the local IMAXs I am so there, and if they put Hero in one...well, when my head exploded you could all be sure I'd have died happy.

And David and Alan HUGE...oh man.

Got to spend Saturday evening and most of Sunday with Aelf, and we finally got to try out my complex's heated pool. After a morning at the flea market we'd earned it. It was lovely and I think we were in it for close to an hour. I did make Aelf sit down and watch "Truly, Madly, Deeply" before she left because it's one of my all time favorite films and if I couldn't have [livejournal.com profile] devine_debris out to watch it with me, then I had to watch it with Aelf. I was gratified to see that at the end I wasn't the only one blubbering. We both had a good long cry, and a good long laugh about crying, which was quite cleansing. Of course it caused me to moan once again, "Why, oh why can't Americans make films as good as this?"

After Aelf took off I did some laundry and general tidying up before calling it a night. Of course it was so hot sleep was difficult, and with Pye bumping back his new freakout hour to 3 a.m. I knew I was doomed. Sure enough today I'm the walking dead, but hopefully that'll make sleeping easier tonight. It is supposed to keep getting hotter and hotter, though. *sigh*

Finished up the skirt I was working on and after obtaining the perfect fabric at the flea market (about 10 yards for under $20 I should add) I can get started on my grand concept project. Wish me luck.
