Another semi-busy weekend though not a crazy, life-draining one for a change, which was very cool. Got to spend Friday evening with Aelf and [livejournal.com profile] cyranocyrano for some more "Hellsing". C- and I had already seen the disc, but Aelf hadn't so it was all good. We ate Pizza Chicago (Air Jordan, mmm!) and chatted and geeked a bit and I got to play them a couple of songs from "Avenue Q" (thank you [livejournal.com profile] elo_sf!)

Aelf and I spent a few more hours talking then sacked out fairly early. The cats were slightly wretched and woke both of us up a few times, but I figure that's just going to be the norm unless Aelf makes a habit of staying over on the weekends. We'll cope.

Anyway up fairly bright and early for more chatting while I puttered around a bit and tried to make the apartment a little more presentable. Then [livejournal.com profile] elo_sf, [livejournal.com profile] phillipalden, and [livejournal.com profile] jakejr showed up for brunch at La Fiesta. Can I just say that the Rosita's Eggs are not to be missed, if for no other reason than the thinly sliced, fried potato slices with sour cream. Oh my god... I knew I could't eat anything else that day (though I did snack a little later that evening), but it was so worth it. Aelf and I then ran over to Golden Phoenix to check it out and pick up some stuff. Very cool store, though we both got far too distracted by all the cool Chinese products. You should see the cooking utensils aisle, the tablewear, the rice cookers, the...well, you get the idea. I didn't pick up as many necessities as I wanted to, but I suspect I was just too distracted by all the other cool stuff. I could go over and pick up fresh bean curd any day of the week, how cool is that?

Got back to my place to discover that the mail person had come with my Amazon package but decided not to leave it. "Delivery confirmation"? On an Amazon package? WTF? I specifically asked the manager what the standard procedure was for stuff that didn't fit into our mailboxes and he said they left it on our porch, which was cool with me. Apparently that isn't the case. So I put the slip back in the box with the "leave it on the goddamn porch" box checked, but I suspect I'll be heading for the post office tomorrow. That's ok, I have two boxes to ship anyway.

Bah. The Alan Rickman-a-thon has been re-scheduled for next weekend :(

Anyway, got some shredding done and damn but I need me one of those. It's fun! Of course it did traumatize Pye, but after a day of stress he spent the night napping so it's all good. Aelf got back and we watched my newly acquired copy of Hellboy. I have to say that the special features do not qualify as "special" in my book. I was totally unimpressed by them and by the deleted scenes in particular. My overall impression was, borrow it or rent it, don't buy it. I liked the film enough to own it anyway, thankfully, or I'd be pissed.

Sunday we slept in a bit and I got some more puttering done while Aelf showered. Then we parted so I could run some errands and she could head back down south. Ventured into Bed, Bath, and Beyond and acquired Space Bags and a Yankee Candle scented oil room freshener in lilac! Dropped off 4 bags of clothing and shoes that just don't fit in the new place for Goodwill, filled up my car, and hit Cosentino's as I was down that way, for some staples. My fridge is now quite well stocked, hooray!

Spent most of the day unpacking and arranging stuff, cleaned the litter boxes, and did a load of laundry. Since I had the vacuum out for the Space Bags anyway, I did my bedroom floor then got a call from a friend and spent the next hour chatting. Afterwards I finished up my closet and sorted my paperwork into "shred", "toss", and "keep" piles. Decided to give the kitties a break and not do the shredding yesterday, which they seemed to appreciate.

Finally got some time to sit down and cruise the web a little, grabbed some great HP images and had to make a couple of icons because that's how I am. I'll try to remember to use my other one tomorrow. Still need to find some screencaps or the actual animated bit of Draco collapsing for another icon I want to make. I'll keep looking.

And finally, as shamelessly swiped from tersa: What Type of Social Entity are You )
