Damn I got a lot accomplished this weekend, I'm feeling all buff and much less stressed because of it. Donated blood first thing on Saturday then Aelf and I drove up to visit [livejournal.com profile] jakejr for more episodes of "The Wire". Only a few more to go to finish up the season. This series alone makes me seriously consider getting the paid movie channels, but we shall see.

A yummy dinner and some tasty, but very melty ice cream was eaten before we drove home and I got to sit down and finish up a project that I'd hoped to get shipped out before moving. Sure enough it's done and stuck neatly into a box, all ready to go. Go me!

Sunday Aelf and I got up bright and early to begin some serious work on the house. I got almost all of my boxes (except the really heavy ones) out in the garage, which leaves only 4 in my bedroom. We waved goodbye to one of the loveseats as it made its way to Stately Wayne Manor II (yay more ass space!). Then loaded up our cars and drove up to my new place. After getting everything in the apartment Aelf and I discussed different furniture placement options. I have very little space to work with, so this is a major consideration really.

Zoomed back home and got even more work done, then crashed for a few hours during the hottest part of the day, before then going out to wash out my flower pots for the yard sale and mowing the back lawn. I figure one or two more good mowings should do it and then I can retire the mower once and for all. Again, anyone needing any kind of plant/yard related stuff should please let me know. If I can find my tools good homes I'm going to be very happy.

Passed out far too early on Sunday, but damn I was exhausted. Got up fairly early on Monday just in case any of the movers I wanted to call were available, no go. Ah well. Got smart and went to the Better Business site and looked up some local folks with great ratings. I have three numbers to try to contact today for quotes, wish me luck.

Then dropped a few more things at the new place before meeting up with [livejournal.com profile] tersa for Harry Potter. My god Lupin just gets more cute and cuddle-licious every single time I see that film. Must...have...DVD. *sigh* Caught lots of little details I'd missed the first time around (one of my favorites being the Slytherin tie-pins that Malfoy, Crabbe and Goyle were wearing). Am becoming slightly obsessed with seeing the Ravenclaw colors/stuff, though, as it's my favorite House. Couldn't really make out anything this time, though. I want a pause button so badly I can taste it...*sigh*...I think I'm going to need to see this flick again.

Got home and did a bit of puttering before watching the Stargate special on the new Atlantis series. It's a bad sign that I already actively dislike at least two characters on the new series. I begin to suspect that I should've just gone into the first ep without any background info on the show. I'll continue to watch SG-1, regardless of how much it sucks this season because this one may well be the last. And, well, Daniel might get naked again...it could happen.

Then I drove down to SJ to meet with Patrice for costume measurements for my troupe outfit. We sat and chatted for a bit about dance and I decided that I need to try to make one or two of her classes this summer if I can. Not only is she a sweetheart, but the classes themselves just sound like fun. Add to that the fact that I've been wanting to learn a bit of tribal stuff, and well, yeah...

It was funny for the two of us to see one another out of costume, she kept commenting on how tall I was and I kept thinking how much smaller she seems without all the tassles and mirrors and make-up. It was just bizarre. I also got complimented on my facial expressions while dancing, apparently she thinks I'm flirting with the audience, and of course she's right :)

Anyway, one big shout out, thank you to my sis, [livejournal.com profile] missjones for my lovely birthday gift. I now own the complete Adam Ant boxed set of CD's. It's got everything, including rare B sides and remixes, even a version of Stand and Deliver that sounds like it was recorded live. Sweet!
