GODZILLA
HE’S BIG…HE’S BAD…AND HE’S BACK
LIKE YOU NEVER SAW HIM BEFORE!
Daily: 2:00, 4:30, 7:00, 9:30
It's the original Japanese print, no Raymond Burr, just good old fashioned Tokyo destruction. I'm so going, anybody interested?
And guess who got the rowing machine she's been pining for at long last? Yep, closed the deal and drove down to south SJ last night to pick it up. $25 and it's just what I was looking for, hooray! It's got a little timer built into it but I find it just as easy to set it up someplace with a clock within easy view. Even on the lowest setting it's tough! But I was heartened to see that the original owner never made it past the second setting. This gives me incentive. Sometimes my competitive streak is a good thing.
Set it up in the living room after I finished dinner and watering the backyard. Worked out while watching the Garson/Olivier "Pride and Prejudice" which was a little surreal, but it's nice to be able to do something to help burn off a few calories rather than just sitting there like a lump.
My goal is to try to use it at least 4 times a week. That combined with dancing 2-3 times a week should help matters a good deal. According to a couple of websites I checked out I should be burning about 100 calories on the thing every 10 minutes or so. I know it's not a completely accurate figure, but it gives me a general idea of how much I'm going to have to use it in order to lose about 5 pounds.
And oh man is it good for the upper body, my arms really felt it last night.
In honor of purchasing my first piece of exercise equipment I'm going to institute a new self rating process:
Galley Slave Rating: Week 1= weak old man about to keel over and die.
Sure it's not terribly flattering, but it's a starting place. If I can make it to Ben Hur level within a year's time I'm going to be so happy.
