You know when you turn on the radio first thing in the morning and that's what you immediately hear, that it's likely to be a good day.

And oh my freaking god, this review of ROTK is kicking my ass this morning. I agreed with the person's nit-picks on TTT and with their favorite moments in the book so I think I'm going to come out of the theater feeling very much like they did after they saw it. And did I say I was bringing two boxes of tissues? Better make that three...

Busy, but productive weekend. The huge "Oh-god-please-let-it-end" mystery project is done, done, done! I put that baby to bed Sunday and wrapped it up. Now I just want to finish one or two smaller things that won't take much time at all and that should do it. Damn I'm good.

Also got all my Xmas stuff shipped, for those of you in other states, don't be surprised to receive a box from me and Aelf, just don't open it 'til Xmas, ok?

Got to finally see L-'s place Friday night where we watched movies, played video games and had very good veggie lasagnia. Yum! I finally got to play his Centipede game, though I was hideously rusty. The highlights, though, were listening to [livejournal.com profile] cyranocyrano playing Donkey Kong Jr., and watching L- play the Michael Jackson "Moonwalker" game. You haven't truly lived until you've stood over someone's shoulder yelling, "Touch the monkey, Michael, touch it!"

We ended up watching Iron Monkey and House of 1,000 Corpses. The latter was a bit disappointing as the body count got nowhere near 1,000. More like 991 corpses, if you don't count the cheerleaders or the established zombies.

So Saturday was shipping packages, getting some housework and crafting done, and then heading over to [livejournal.com profile] elo_sf's place for a murder mystery dinner. As I was cast as a bellydance instructor I, of course, ended up in full costume. My pretty purple skirt with green and silver emboidery and my bedleh for its first public appearance. Think I need to take in the belt a little bit more (hooray!) and the bra needs to be secured in some way to the under-bra, but otherwise it's all good. Yet again I was not the murderer (damn), though I did *try* to kill the guy *sigh*. It was great fun, and we got to see E- open his gifts, and chat with folks, and see my beloved [livejournal.com profile] jakejr.

Went home afterwards and failed my resist "Trading Spaces" roll, so didn't end up in bed until about 1-ish. Dragged out of bed on Sunday at 10:30 so I could make it to the Line Party chat on time, though only me and two others showed up which was sad. Still got a lot done. Then zoomed over to [livejournal.com profile] tersa's for the procuring of hockey tickets. Then back home to rake and mow my front lawn. Nice upper body workout, that, my arms are ever so much stronger after all the yardwork these days. I almost don't mind the huge leaf-vomiting tree that seems to throw down millions of leaves per day. Almost.

Also saw my first winter snails. Yuck.

Think that's about it, aside from watching one of the special features on the TTT disc and Ancient Egyptians, which was quite entertaining. Also heard my super-duper ROTK soundtrack is on its way, so it should arrive today or tomorrow. I'm going to be a basketcase when it does.
