ebonlock: (hobbit kid)
I pulled my hair back into a severe bun this morning and took a few extra minutes to smooth it all out and make it look right. When I finished and checked it in the mirror I had the impulse to burst into "Don't Cry for me, Argentina". Eat your heart out, Eva Peron.

Dance class was great last night, and S- and I got to lead as we did "Tic, Tic" face to face with our fellow students. It's actually much less confusing to do that one face to face than it is to do PoC, and even that one's not so bad really. I actually know where all the moves go now, even if I can't do some of them worth a damn. Alyne keeps trying to explain some of the moves and we all listen and nod patiently. Sadly the moves that give us the most difficulty are ones that simply require repetition, practice, and muscle control. There are no easy answers, no shortcuts, just hard work.

Speaking of which, I should not be allowed to listen to any music that can inadvertantly inspire random veil choreographies. I was playing "Into the Labyrinth" last night and stumbled upon Ariadne quite by accident. I'd never liked the piece that came before it and continues into the beginning of this one so I'd always skipped over it. However I wasn't paying close attention last night in the car and just let it play through. It'd be dead easy to choreograph the piece, it's short, pretty, and just the right pace for veils. I think I've got Aelf talked into it already *G*

Aelf also finished Susan Kay's "Phantom" last evening and we spent a great deal of time when I got home discussing it. She liked it every bit as much as I'd hoped and is now hyped to see the musical again. Score! If there is anyone out there who hasn't read this book and would like to my loaner copy is now free again. It's gorgeous and lush and just an all around amazing read. And oh my god I love the section that takes place in Persia. I so want to put together a music mix titled, "An Evening in the Presence of the Khanum", filled with sultry, achingly beautiful Middle Eastern music. Hmm, perhaps I'll do that this weekend.

And tonight I get to run mad errands and spend some money on fabric and trim (woo!), then see Shaolin Soccer, which I've wanted to watch for a very long time. Then three whole days to sleep and get shit done. Gods this day just can't be over fast enough!

I bow low before the dedicated souls at TORN for this amazingly gorgeous image from ROTK:
Beautiful Hobbit Boys

This one is spoilery so go at your own risk, but oh my freakin' god I'm already a wreck just from seeing this image. I'm just going to sit here in a puddle of my own drool for a bit.
