Ok so is anybody else suffering allergies so bad right now that the living in a bubble option is starting to sound good? Good gods I've been miserable all weekend, with Saturday being the worst by far. I was doubling up on meds and still only getting about a two hour window of time when both doses were at their peak. I was also in a community center in the middle of rural Nowhere surrounded by all of the happy plants spewing forth a variety of miser-inducing substances. And did I mention it was really hot? And crowded too? *sigh*

On the plus side Tribal Fest was fantastic and watching the incredibly creative and beautifully danced choreographies was amazing. The costumes were stunning, and oh my the shopping. I completely failed my "resist skirt" and "resist bags" rolls, but the skirt is just so gorgeous! And it was only $10! It's amazing when you go to shows and gatherings like that the range of price you'll find from one place to the next. Most expensive, Urban Tribal, a pair of pants with cool split, bell bottom legs, $70. I'm sorry, but for $70 I expect them to do a little bit more than make me look bulgy. I saw the body type required for said pants, I'm not it. Maybe in my 20's, but sure as shit not these days. Ah well.

Got home around 9:30 or so, showered, re-medicated, and gave poor Kage some lap time before staggering into bed. I was dead to the world after that. I think I've discovered that massive doses of antihistamines will in fact knock me out.

Sunday was the Dunia veil workshop which was interesting, but ultimately left me feeling a bit disappointed. Mostly, I think, because the studio was just way too small for 8 people to try dancing at once. And the fact that 3 of the folks in there had little to no control over their spins or their veils. I know I shouldn't throw stones, I mean that was me not so long ago, but I need room when I'm doing veil work, and there was none to be had. Finally Dunia picked up on the fact that there wasn't enough space and had us do stuff either as duos or singles. After that it was much better. At the end of class the room divided in two, with the three newbies going over to chat with Dunia, and A-, S- and I going over to talk to Alyne.

Afterwards we headed home and I got my yardwork done (go me!) though it exacerbated my already iffy allergies for the day and afterwards I had to shower and medicate up the wazoo again. It sucks to have allergies and yet love being outdoors, ya know? I made sure to water everything well and called it a day. Aelf wanted to go check out the Matrix, so we headed over to Winchester. BIG. MISTAKE. The place was so packed that even the Flames parking lot was full. Deciding that neither of us wanted to see it that badly, we went back home and watched some more episodes of SG-1 and ordered a pizza. Yum. Then there was about two hours of working on our choreography wherein we discovered that somethings simply were not going to work and there was much tweaking. Sadly my brain was so fuzzy I could remember precious little of what I was supposed to be doing so I made Aelf demo a lot of it while Kage flopped on my lap. Apparently laps cancel out fabric trauma as she didn't seem the least bit phased by them after that.

Oh, forgot to mention, that after helping [livejournal.com profile] tersa and [livejournal.com profile] cyranocyrano move some stuff Friday night I went home to find my hose and strawberries covered in slugs. They're eating the damn strawberries before they even get ripe! Once I made this discovery I don't remember much...it's all a red haze. I did come back to myself somewhat later to find all the weeds in the strawberry patch yanked out and crushed slug bodies everywhere. As if they'd been pounded repeatedly with a brick. I think I must've experienced my first berserker rage *G*

And then I found out there seems to be a yellow jacket nest somewhere around our shed out back. That does it, I'm just declaring war on invertebrates. The only good bug is a dead bug. Grrrr.
