Damn this sounds interesting:
East Meets West
Apparently it's a bellydance event that merged the ancient eastern dance form with the modern American culture. Of particular note to
technocowboy:
Some highlights:
a 1920's themed routine to 'Istanbul (not constantinople)' It was set in a bar with the bellydancer as the entertainment for the night. Throughout her routine, a middle aged man in a tux drooled slack jawed whilst his frumpy wife alternated between trying to strangle him, trying to strangle the bellydancer, and trying to block his view of the show.
And of particular note to me:
My instructor doing what was pretty close to a traditional five part routine... except entirely to beatles music including ringo starr's only recorded drum solo.
Jeez I wish I could've been there, it sounded way cool.
Anyway, weekend update time. ( Snipping here for those who find my posts a bit lengthy )
