If you're a Larry Olivier fan this one is so ridiculously obvious it's not even funny.

Well two nights in my wonderful new home have given me a whole new, happier outlook on life. I can't even begin to express my gratitude to everyone who helped out with the move on Saturday, the list is huge! [livejournal.com profile] esmerel and [livejournal.com profile] merlinofchaos, you guys were amazing, that desk would never have made it downstairs without you, and your help with the truck and bringing the Krispy Kremes has earned you a place in the heavens if I have anything to say about it. [livejournal.com profile] mister_sunshine, you're a wonder, and with the proper headgear could make for an amazing evil kung-fu warlord, you're also a big help when moving heavy furniture and deserve lots of positive karma for it (with any luck you'll come back as a pampered housecat in the next life *G*). [livejournal.com profile] tersa and [livejournal.com profile] cyranocyrano, guys you kicked serious ass, your willingness to help and organizational skills were absolutely astonishing, I owe you both chocolates and foot massages! [livejournal.com profile] crobderg, [livejournal.com profile] lucianus, and [livejournal.com profile] lil_m_moses you guys were just a wonder of efficiency, every time I turned around there you were, lending a hand and keeping everything moving right along so smoothly I almost wanted to move again because it was going so well. Almost *G* And of course [livejournal.com profile] mallen, who always manages to show up when there are heavy things to be lifted, I'm glad you're much more pleased with this second move, I know how disappointed you were by the lack of things to lift at the first. I did so want you to have a satisfying experience. Oh and last but not least [livejournal.com profile] jakejr who missed the move, but was charming enough not to begrudge me dragging her out of bed for nothing, and allowed me to gush about the house ad nauseum. You were all wonderful, and if I were a Roman emperor, I'd have you all turned into minor gods in my favorite cities and you'd have constellations (nice ones too, not dim ones or anything) named after you.

Ok, so, got moved in, had Craft Night later that evening to which [livejournal.com profile] mfh brought the yummiest, most decadent brownies I've had in ages. I'm glad I didn't ask for the recipe, having those things in my house would be incredibly dangerous. [livejournal.com profile] tersa hosted yet again and made us all the most wonderful tomato soup and then later grilled cheese for some of the ladies while we watched Gosford Park, and later The Others. Both were good, though I must say by the end of the first I was rather scratching my head about why it had been gushed over for Oscars. I mean it was good, but I've seen stuff every bit as good on Masterpiece Theater. Ah well, who can say? Still, a nice relaxing way to end the day.

Sunday started a bit earlier than I'd hoped (8:30 wake up, by 9 I actually dragged myself out of bed). Getting started on some more unpacking, I got most of my c.d. collection shelved, and a good portion of my books as well. I also watered the lawn, fretted about a lawnmower (which I may buy tomorrow), and made a list of all the stuff I absolutely had to have. Then zoomed off to meet [livejournal.com profile] windrose for lunch, the MV farmer's market (where I got the loveliest honeysuckle lotion), and then snagged [livejournal.com profile] aelfsciene for Reign of Fire. It was often a silly movie, contrived and hardly original in a lot of ways (you will predict every twist and turn and know who's going to end up dead well before the end), but damn it was a lot of fun. There were some truly enjoyable elements to it that I won't spoil here, but I'd recommend it as a matinee on a lazy weekend. The dragons were phenomenal, and well worth the price of admission, if nothing else. Turn your brain off and enjoy this one. Also, keep your eye out for Alexander Siddig (Dr. Bashir from DS9), as he has a rather prominent role in the film!

After loading up the car again, it was off to OSH for some supplies, then the grocery store for food, then back home at last. Got the washer and dryer working properly (go me!), did some organizing in the kitchen, then flopped down and watched two episodes of I, Claudius to wind down. A nice hot bath in the new tub made the evening complete.

Crunches: 80 (yay!)
Settling in: Well under way.
