Kevin Bacon fans place your bets, and nobody at House Entropy last night is allowed to guess this one!
Wow what a day we had yesterday, and I owe many many thanks to a legion of incredibly helpful people! Chris and Aaron, you guys totally rock, both for lending a hand on the move and putting together one helluva great 4th of July shindig. And damn you fondue well!
mallen,
cyranocyrano,
tersa, and
windrose you have my eternal gratitude for turning a potentially gruelling, unpleasant task into a quick, easy, and utterly pleasant experience. You guys are amazing and wonderful. Oh, and I promise to have bigger, heavier, less pleasant things to move next week,
mallen, promise!
The party at House Entropy was delightful, and just the right way to wind down after a few hours of heavy lifting. The food was delicious, the company delightful, and the sexual innuendos were flying fast and furious. There will undoubtedly be rather disturbing photo documentation of the event, and I have just one thing to say, not a single person involved was drunk. Be afraid, be very afraid.
One of the nicest things about yesterday was seeing my old friend Steve, who helped me lug my papsan over to the new place and offered all kinds of home tips while taking a look around the place. He and I were inseperable in high school and lost touch a bit after he graduated and joined the army. We always made and effort to contact one another, though, and when I moved out here we decided to make even more of one to see each other once in a while. It's still far too infrequent with our busy lives, but getting to talk to him for a few hours yesterday was wonderful. I'm so grateful to have such incredible friends, I really am.
I think I've decided on a slightly different sprinkler system for the backyard, and I may have to stop at OSH tonight to pick it up. Ack, so much to do this weekend and so little time!!!
