If you're into movie musicals this one's a cinch.
Ok, first thing's first, I want every gal in the Bay Area who's reading this post to clear the evening of Friday July 12 around 7ish. Why you ask? There's going to be a bellydance party thrown in San Jose, dancing, costumes, music, learning from one another, and, oh, this:
"After the performances, we will listen to some classic bellydance tunes. You will then be waited on by a pack of handsome arabian knights and served tea, desserts, and other sweet surprises..."
Swoon!
When? Friday July 12 from 7-10.
Where? 950 South Winchester Boulevard, San Jose
How much? Free, but a $5 donation is suggested.
Why? You're kidding, right? Cute boys serving dessert that's why!
Excuse me for a moment while I wipe away the drool.
All righty, where was I? Ah yes, so last night's classes were quite interesting. The first one was fun and quite easy so very relaxing really.
aelfsciene seemed much more comfortable this week, and when I explained that hip slides were merely the prelude stage for hip circles rather than an end unto themselves I think it all but erased last week's discomfort. It was so nice to see her smile and laugh in class again.
Between classes I got to see the next moves we'll be learning in the choreography, they're so fun! I may just have to do this recital, I love this routine!
esmerel is going to be delighted, no circle fellahins! Speaking of which Shira decided to start class 2 by going through "Tinni Minni Hanim", last semester's hellish routine with, you guessed it, circle fellahins. I impressed myself by remembering almost all of it unassisted and getting the cymbal work correct which was nice. Of course this was balanced out by completely screwing up the veil routine a bit later. I just went blank and forgot everything. Luckily we went through it a few times and by the third or so I was remembering most of it. Must practice, absolutely must. I must also complete a second veil like my purple one, the lighter green one I have just doesn't flow properly. That will have to wait, however, until after the move.
That's it for the moment, aside from asking everyone to send some good health vibes in
tersa's direction. I'm afraid the creeping ick I had last week has effected her, the poor dear.
Crunches: 80 (woohoo!)
Bellydance euphoria: High
