Here's hoping the guy who did this comes back in his next life as a cockroach.

In ROTK news, the fourth ANNUAL CINEMARATI AWARD NOMINATIONS are apparently up and the nominations are plentiful. I'm fascinated by the song that ended up nominated from the soundtrack. I've gotta' agree with their choice, though, "Steward of Gondor" is an amazing piece and used possibly more effectively than any other I've seen in any film, well...ever really. Go, Billeh, go!

Hopefully the tape I set up to catch the Making of ROTK special on Bravo last night (well technically at 12:15 this morning) worked. Got to see Lij on the Daily Show last night and was very pleased. He's so adorable even if he does look about 12 years old. *sigh*

Got some more work done on my drawing and so far I'm pleased with the results. Whether or not I remain pleased is another discussion entirely, but having the basic stuff plotted and penciled in is a good start. The image also requires text, which is something I hate to do above all else, but in this case I will just suck it up and deal.

In unrelated news I slept very badly last night (and given how tired I was yesterday this is not such a good thing) and spent most of the night waking up from one nightmare after another. The last one that Pye actually woke me from was the worst. Not scary, just deeply and profoundly disturbing. I mean it was the kind of gorey imagery that makes me think my subconscious is a very scary place indeed. I don't even like thinking that I could come up with such stuff. It's probably a good thing that I am actually aware of and retain so few of my dreams. *shudder*

What about when you're finished with the process of making art for a particular piece?

I don't mind scanning my stuff and making them available digitally but I've never been big on doing anything beyond that to them. My "art" is still the thing I've got in my hands, not the image I see up on the screen. And as for this piece it won't be "done" until I put the text on.

What technique do you use to apply your text?

Usually I just pencil in some guide lines and then write it in. Not sure quite what script I want to use for this one, though, I'll need to ponder that for a bit.
