ebonlockFor those interested the limited edition ROTK soundtrack is now available for pre-order on Amazon. If you want all the goodies, including the special DVD you're going to want the The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King [SOUNDTRACK] [ENHANCED] [LIMITED EDITION], which is going for around $27. I got hooked on the uber-editions with TTT last year and just can't bring myself to settle for less any more. Though I wouldn't mind having a copy of the regular one too as the uber edition doesn't release until December 9. :(
Oh and I forgot to mention I actually squeaked aloud in the movie theater when I glanced on the wall to see a poster with an extreme close up of a Predator's mask and the words: "AVP, No matter who wins, we lose." on it. Alien versus Predator at long last coming out sometime next year. Squee! I fully intend to see that one opening night so I can cheer on the Predators. If there's just one decapitation via speargun I'll feel like I've gotten my money's worth with that one. It's one of my favorite things in the original game.
If I were better at math I'd calculate how many geek points I've already wracked up just this far along in the post. Something tells me I don't want to know, though.
Spent some quality time with Amazon last night before deciding I couldn't face class, and instead settled in for an evening of Season 5 StarGate. Can't say as I'm terribly inspired by this particular season, but still worth watching. Perhaps more so than Season 7, which makes me even more sad. Ah well, every series ends eventually, though very few with the class of Blake's 7...Must pick up that series after the holidays, I really must.
I'm also beginning to think that maybe, just maybe, I might get all of my projects done on time for Xmas. Fingers crossed (except when typing and crafting, of course).

Date: 2003-11-11 09:20 am (UTC)I enjoyed Alien the best of the movies I've seen, but it'll be difficult to 'put a human face' on this situation, and with as much as the audience knows about the two races it'll be more difficult to play with the unknown factor. I haven't seen the comics but I suspect we have a galactically scaled war, and so I'll be looking for lots of explosions and exobiological ichor. Sort of like "The Flying Leathernecks" but without John Wayne.

A classy ending despite lack of conscious effort? I'd heard they didn't know they were ending until after they'd filmed the last episode of the series. (But if you've got a classy operation running constantly then it doesn't much matter when you have to close up shop.)
