So I've been annoyed lately to lose one of my favorite local channels, The Wave (93.3) to what seems to be an easy listening station. I was undecided which channel to set up in place of it until yesterday when KFOG actually played the above mentioned REM tune from Sesame Street. Any channel that will play something like that deserves a place on my saved list.

And yesterday I showed all the willpower of your average addict and went ahead and bought my peacock bedleh set. It is awfully pretty, though, and in some way it makes me feel a bit more...official if you will. Like a real dancer. And as we got invited to another student night, it looks like I'll even have a venue for it. I just keep going back to the eBay page and gazing fondly at it thinking, "That's mine." It's apparently being shipped today, so with any luck I may even have it by the weekend, how cool is that?

I'm not entirely sure, but I think Alyne may have been trying to kill us last night in class. Good gods I can't remember the last time I was that winded and exhausted by the time we called it a night. Yay aerobic workout! I've needed one for a good long time now. By the time we got to a veilwork cool down my arms felt like they were going to fall off, and my "snake arms" were, in a word, pathetic.

But we got to run PoC and I was amused to note that the two gals from the beginners' class who'd stuck around seemed quite intrigued by it. I mean the rest of the night had been devoted to drills, which aren't so interesting to watch, but Princess is a fun choreography and they seemed to enjoy it. I was also wearing my new hip scarf and boy can I make that fringe fly when I put my mind to it. During the masmoudi (sp?) bit I was really going at it and glanced down to note that the gals were staring at my flying fringe in absolute fascination. So of course I played it up a bit and grinned at them. I swear I'm such a flirt when I'm in dance-mode.

We grabbed Alyne after class and talked to her about starting up private veil lessons again. We need the structure to really get us back into working on them sufficiently again, and she seemed really delighted to be working with us on it. She also reiterated her desire to see us out there performing and innovating and showing people what could be done with double veil. And she's got some new moves to teach us! Maybe they'll help me figure out what the hell I want to do with my solo. Maybe.

Must get some crafting done tonight or work on my costume, Xmas is just coming way too fast this year and I already feel like I'm way behind on everything.

I like KFOG because the conglomerate that owns it is smaller, and it's very involved in the community it broadcasts to.
Local concerts, events like Kaboom....
Of course, I look at radio stations with a DJ's eye.

(PS: Looks like nog is dead again.)

Yikes, you're just having no luck with emails recently. Should I hold off on responding to yours? Or do you think it'll be safe to do so?

Should be safe to send mail, I just don't know when I can respond.
(Hey. You could cc: cyranocoyote@yahoo.com anyway.)

Thanks to Cyrano!

I hope that ebonlock doesn't mind me using her journal to say thank you, thank you, thank you for the cool mix cd!!!! Ebonlock gave me my cd in class last night. I listened to it on the way home from class, and on the way to work this morning. It has some great stuff on it. And I think it's funny that you managed to use my all-time-favorite dance picture of myself on the cover without knowing my preference for it.

Thanks again!

Yay! I was hoping I'd done well. The cool part is that there are three more CDs in the set, and sooner or later I'll get them finished too.
