I had a bit of a Costco accident last night, but I can now say I currently have more beverages than god in the household. Our fridge actually looks full...though it's mostly drinks and condiments. Still, I can pretend that I need all these things for the scads of people I'll be entertaining next week. See the roomie is off to frolic in the desert, leaving me feeling like the heroine in an 80's teen flick whose parents have just walked out the door. Cue catchy pop anthem and imagine me dancing around my apartment in my unmentionables.
It's far more interesting than what the real week is going to be like. I imagine most of it will consist of me collapsing on the sofa with a Diet Coke and watching t.v. Sad but true. Maybe I'll get some sewing done anyway.
I'm glad to be back into gaming again and I think everyone had a pretty good time last night, even if it was a bit toasty. Fortunately I had LOTS OF DRINKS on hand so we could cool off a bit with those. The roomie made a great haughty elf and was actually the brains behind our little group. It was nice to have her in a leadership position as my character is supremely unqualified to lead (except from the rear). And the new Halfling kickass fighter concept is just way too much fun, I can't wait 'til she joins us full time. Although my character will find it very difficult to
duck behind her during fights...
Hmm, it is Friday and I almost feel obligated to say something deep and profound, I'm just not sure what that should be. I'll give it a whirl, though. My advice for today is to drop an email to someone you haven't heard from in a while, maybe someone you haven't even thought about for a bit. Take a moment and dig through your brain until you come up with just the right person. Send them a note, doesn't have to be long or deep, just a quick note. Brighten someone's day just because you can.
Crunches: 0 (hey, I can take a night off if I want to, dammit)

Date: 2002-05-24 09:49 am (UTC)I've spent some time talking to Bruce and Trip about my character this morning, and they're major power gamer geeks. Now I have Ideas. Like my chickie (she needs a name!) with a bastard sword, mounted on a war dog. They can go into dungeons! Lots of cool mounted feats, which I'd more or less ignored last night. And if we find a 5th level druid willing to cast Awaken on it, my puppy can start levelling. I sense much more delighted cackling in my future.
And I've actually been thinking about dropping a couple of out-of-touch people a line, so will take your advice for the day as a karmic kick in the pants, and do it. ^_

It's such a nice thing to receive on a Friday, and puts you in a great mood for the weekend. Letting another person know you think about them and care about them is one of the greatest gifts you can give.

Date: 2002-05-24 10:24 am (UTC)Oh, yeah--feel free to ping me if you're bored any evenings next week. I may be unloading blank tapes onto Megs on Tuesday night, but apart from working out Tues-Weds-Thurs, and gaming on Thursday, I have nothing like plans. Though maybe I should just churn through more episodes of Highlander, cuz I'm hoping to finish before I move. Lots of other tapes I should give a look, too, since I'm betting I won't want them, but I don't want to get rid of them outright. Too much stuff
