Quick reminder, Aelf will be performing her first complete solo act this Friday evening:
Straw Hat Pizza
1535 Meridian Ave.
San Jose, CA
Show starts at 8
I'm in charge of seating so if you're considering coming (even if you're just a maybe at this point) please let me know. And be sure to bring some one dollar bills, tipping of dancers is highly encouraged!!!
I have now officially gotten all my paperwork done and sent off regarding the credit card fraud. The funny part is that when I went to get it notarized last night the notary glanced down, shook his head and muttered, "Credit card fraud, huh?"
I nodded and he laughed a little bitterly, "You would not believe how many people I've notarized documents like this for. And it's always Citibank. I've even had my card number stolen from them too." We commisserated on how suckful Citi is when it comes to customer security and he confided that he'd never do business with them again either and that he told everyone he could to avoid them. I would heartily concur, if you currently have a Citibank card or are considering getting one, don't!
Finished up the first disc of Season 3 Stargate last night and I got to see the first *Crazy Daniel!* episode (a.k.a. "Legacy"), hooray! I'd forgotten that earlier in the ep he comes out in a scene all glistening and moist wearing nothing more than a blue robe and a puzzled expression. *Happy sigh* He is oh so tasty. And then later on he's looney tunes and locked in a padded room, kudos to Michael Shanks for beautifully portraying schizophrenic Daniel/drugged Daniel so distinctly, nicely done.
Also picked up the latest TV Guide with a cover and feature on the series, that contained some interesting tidbits of info. It confirmed the 8th season of the series (yay!) and a new spinoff series Stargate: Atlantis. Still no cast named for it, and if there is an 8th season of SG-1 I fear that the writers will either get split between the two or shifted to the new one to try to get it off the ground. I should hate to see SG-1 go down that same ignomius path as Xena and XFiles into mediocrity and shameful demise.
The article claimed that the strength of the series was it's action/adventure focus rather than the sci-fi aspects. I would disagree I think it's real strength is a) great cast/characters whose interactions and relationships keep viewers hooked, b) a fascinating premise that's unique and compelling, c) great writing and a very keen eye for continuity on the part of cast and crew, d) a fantastic sense of humor that doesn't cross the line into self-parody more than it should, and e) beautiful, beautiful boys (oh and a pretty girl too). It's a delicate balance, and one I hope they can maintain for another season and a half or so. I'm going to be cautiously optimistic about this.

Date: 2003-07-24 08:47 am (UTC)And, just to make sure, I'm planning on attending. I think I'm going to get there super-early (7'ish) so I can help get good seats and fud and eat leisurely before everyone else inundates the venue.

I like to be thorough, dear, so now I have it in print, good. And Lee, huh? Don't think I know him but please pass on the info about tips *G* So that's six including me and Aelf. Methinks we should consider grabbing two booths or that great big one towards the back.
Re: Aelf's Performance
Date: 2003-07-24 10:32 am (UTC)I should have been more explicit. (:

(PS: Did you know that Kathlaw has an image of me? I'm sending intelligence officers in to investigate this.)

Date: 2003-07-24 01:09 pm (UTC)(P.S. I did see that, and I think she's had a sketch artist in her employ or something.
I've also heard it's better to do things yourself, so I think you should disguise yourself as an intelligence officer and do some first-hand re-connoitering).
