Again the Sharks had to ask themselves this one simple question last night, the same one they needed to ask on Monday, and they just didn't. It was like dejavu all over again. I wonder if time slowed for Nabby when he saw Forsberg speeding toward him with a "I have you now!" gleam in his eye. Wherefore art thou defensemen?

Gah. I think I'll defer to filidh for an excellent summary of the game in his latest post. Our puck handling went straight to hell, and frankly if Nabby weren't such a stellar goalie we'd have been pounded flat last night. Much as I find Teemu an aestheticallly pleasing member of the team I would've happily throttled him with my bare hands after he whiffed on a "Roy Moment". You generally only get one of those per game, you have to make it count. *sigh*

So trying to look on the bright side here I'll say that while I would've liked to have another few weeks of hockey, at least now I can free up a few nights of my schedule to do other things. Like exercising. I really enjoyed getting to the gym this week and I want to do it again. I also want my own rowing machine, a nice combo leg press and arm exerciser. This may have to wait until I have a room big enough to accomodate it, but I just really think it'd be cool.

Today I'm visiting a galaxy far, far away and I can't wait. I've already gotten two positive reviews from people whose opinions I tend to generally agree with. This makes me feel downright optimistic, and there's Jedi action, lots of it. I'm sorry, but put a lightsaber in a guy's hands and I turn to absolute mush.

Tomorrow I'll worry about cleaning and cooking and buying fabric for my veils, today I'm just going to enjoy myself.

I'm tired of being ragged about the game by coworkers.

That is soooo very lame. People who do that need to die in a very deep, very large, very slick, very spike filled pit.

I admit that I'm a pretty damn sore loser, and because of that, I make a serious effort not to rag people in the same situation. It's also why I avoid playing any sort of competitive game - at all. For me, ragging on me because I/my team lost is probably one of the 3 fastest ways to get me to want to beat someone's head in with a rock. Or any other object available. Remind yourself that they're pissant weenies. At least you're still wearing your jersey and showing some support for your team, even if they didn't win. I mean, I'm glad the Avs won, but I wouldn't have been unhappy to see the Sharks advance.

Yeah. I don't do too well at that "good loser" thing, either, though it's not as much of a problem in team sports, given my time in basketball. But put me in a stupid card or board game, and I'll be all too competitive, for no real reason. At least with sports, you're pushing yourself to do your best. But most table games are entirely randomized, so it's silly to care. Yet, I do, more the fool I.

At least they gave up after I growled a few times, and then just treated their jibes with silence, so my fury passed fairly quickly
