Ok, one last thing, has anybody else seen the commercial for the new Clash of the Titans flick? Is it just me or does the kracken kind of look like a tentacled up Rancor?

The first time I saw a preview for it (in the theater in December), about ten seconds in I said, "What the hell is this, a remake of Clash of the Titans?" When I discovered I was right, I couldn't decide if I was amused or appalled.

You couldn't watch an hour of the Olympics without catching at least one of the two or three commercials they had for CotT plying it's April (!) release. But, I've known about the re-make for a while due to an IMDB accident and saw a preview in the theater at...some point.

I just keep grousing that the CG is too nice for CotT. :) But, I'm going to go see it: Neeson as Zeus, Fiennes as Hades, a bunch of other names, much like my beloved original cheesefest.

The remake business is getting right the hell out of hand. Clash of the Titans, Nightmare on Elm Street, the notional Battlestar Galactica reboot with Bryan Singer (!!!) - seriously, Hollywood is out of ideas. (And that's before even considering shameless knockoffs like Dances With Smurfs.)
