Orly Taitz, a.k.a. birther loon patient zero, has received a much deserved boot upside the head from reality via the legal system:

via Lawyers, Guns and Money-
Orly Taitz, the enterprising lawyer who has filed various lawsuits alleging that Barack Obama is constitutionally ineligible to be president of the United States, has achieved the perhaps unique legal distinction of so enraging a federal judge with her lunatic theories that she has been fined $20,000 for making frivolous legal arguments, without opposing counsul first moving for sanctions.

You really must read some of the judge's ruling here, seriously funny shit-

Or perhaps an eccentric citizen has become convinced that the President is an alien from Mars, and the courts should order DNA testing to enforce the Constitution...

Her argument that she should have been given more time to respond before the Court issued its ruling, when she had requested the expedited consideration, is so shockingly devoid of reality that it is difficult to know how to respond.

Really, read the whole thing, it's a laugh riot from start to finish. I like to imagine it being read by Frasier Crane, drolly rolling his eyes to emphasize the above points, then huffing out others like, "Her response to the Court's show cause order is breathtaking in its arrogance and borders on delusional." The absolutely best bit is at the end where it's explained that the original fine was only $10,000 and she behaved so stark fucking bugnuts/stupid/insulting that she got it doubled on herself.

The best part is that this is a reasonably conservative Republican appointee in the middle of Georgia. If you can't sell your wackadoo there, you can't sell it anywhere, and this guy is not in the market for wackadoo.

The footnote about how he has received correspondence from somebody who asserts that the President is in fact not human - and who challenges the judge to a fistfight on the courthouse square - is perhaps the most sublime bit of legal writing so far this century.

Can you imagine if this judge wrote a book about the entire process? I'm having serious fantasies of a book tour including the Daily Show and Colbert Report...
