Sep. 6th, 2008 08:01 pmOk so the ABC Family series "Samurai Girl" couldn't be a more blatant rip-off of Buffy if it consciously tried. She's even got an older British mentor who gave her, I shit you not, an untraceable Hello Kitty cell phone. On the plus side her dad's Yakuza and there seem to be nearly constant ninja attacks. There are very few series that can't be improved by the inclusion of ninjas.

Harumph

I like the story and characters, but the production keeps pulling me out of the story.
Ninjas. I mean, FUCKING NINJAS, YEAH!!!!
The Bad:
Don't say you're in SF if you aren't even going to make an attempt other than a couple stock shots of GG bridge and TransAmerica building. Grain elevators and snow-capped mountains in every other shot gets annoying.
Would it hurt to actually cast someone of Japanese descent as the lead (not that I'm complaining...she's hot! ;-)?
For fuck sake, get the boom mike out of the shot! TWICE already!
It's good enough to keep watching, tho...
