In light of my impending unemployment I've spent the past few evenings sending out resumes and cover letters and last night getting my insurance squared away. Pray for me that I don't have any major health issues for the next few months because I had to get the cheapest one. But I was able to keep my current doctors and dentist so that's good.

As I see it I've got until mid-April to get my shit in order and find something. My lease is up May 1 and going month to month in my current place is going to use up my limited unemployment cash real damn fast. Indeed if I don't have something by the end of March I'm going to have to cancel my cable and resort to my old graduate school diet (i.e. ramen, peanut butter, and the occasional splurge on macaroni and cheese) just to keep my bills paid. Fortunately I'm far enough ahead on my car that I could skip a month or two and still be fine. And I can dip into my savings to give me money for groceries and taking care of the credit card.

Still things are going to be tight, so if I turn down a dinner out or some other expense-related plan it's not because I don't want to do it with you, it's because I'm on a very strict budget. But with any luck I'll find something in the not too distant future and this will all become a moot point.

Many thanks to everyone who offered good wishes, hugs, and possible job leads yesterday, I appreciate each and every one.

Oh see I'm many payments ahead on my car, they keep sending me bills for $0 each month and I keep sending a good deal more than that in. So the next $0 bill I get I'll probably just take them up on the offer and send nothing, or at least very little.
